Disney and TikTok partner up to put fan videos on Disney+

The new Disney and TikTok content sharing deal will change how fans watch, create, and share videos on social media and streaming platforms.

Disney and TikTok announced a new global agreement linking the TikTok app directly to Disney+. Now, instead of fan videos staying only on social media, user-made videos can stream inside Disney+.

With this deal, video creators will get official access to copyrighted scenes, sound effects, and other assets from hundreds of famous movies and TV shows. This includes favorites from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, FX, and classic Disney animation.

Creators who join the program can use these official materials to make short videos without worrying about copyright issues or muted audio.

What this means for TikTok users

The Disney and TikTok deal means fans will see more high-quality edits, theory videos, and funny skits in their feeds. TikTok says users already share about 6.5 million movie and TV posts every day, making pop culture a big part of the app.

By giving official rights to popular franchises, the deal helps fans make better-quality videos.

The deal also brings in a Creator Ambassador Program to reward active community members. Creators who make popular Disney-themed videos can move up through different levels and earn perks like invites to movie premieres, special press events, and networking with industry pros.

This change means making fan videos can go from a hobby to a genuine professional career.

How Disney+ streaming subscribers will experience the changes

Disney Plus devices

For Disney+ subscribers, this adds short, vertical social videos into the Disney+ mobile app. Selected clips from TikTok creators will appear in a new vertical video feed called “Verts” inside the app.

People using Disney+ on their phones will be able to swipe through top fan reactions, cosplay videos, and scene reviews, right next to official trailers.

This update responds to the trend of younger viewers splitting time between full movies and quick mobile clips. Instead of making users leave Disney+ to check social media, the app now offers everything in one place.

While watching a Star Wars or Marvel movie, viewers can open the Verts tab to see how other fans are talking about and recreating their favorite scenes.

When will Disney and TikTok launch the feature?

The feature will launch gradually, starting with a test run in the United States before expanding to other countries.

Disney and TikTok say the first pilot program will start in the next few months, letting eligible U.S. creators join. Feedback and results from this trial will help shape how the short-form feed works in other countries later.

The Disney and TikTok deal shows that fan culture is now a key part of entertainment. This partnership lets everyday fans become active co-storytellers.

Whether you are scrolling TikTok on your commute or watching Disney+ at home, you will soon see a smooth connection between fan creativity and studio entertainment.
