FOX One and ESPN Unlimited give sports fans a cheaper way to watch major live events without paying for a large cable or live TV package.
But they cover very different parts of the sports calendar.

Below is a review of FOX One vs ESPN Unlimited:
About FOX One
FOX One brings most of FOX’s television brands into one streaming service. You do not need a cable subscription.
The service includes:
- FOX and local FOX stations
- FS1
- FS2
- Big Ten Network
- FOX Deportes
- FOX News
- FOX Business
- FOX Weather
FOX One normally costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year. A three-day free trial is available for the monthly plan.
That price makes FOX One one of the cheaper ways to stream several national sports channels without cable. You can also buy FOX One through services such as YouTube Primetime Channels, which we covered when FOX One joined YouTube’s subscription marketplace.
About ESPN Unlimited
ESPN Unlimited is ESPN’s full streaming plan. It is much more than the old ESPN+ service.
The current lineup includes:
- ESPN
- ESPN2
- ESPNU
- ESPNEWS
- ESPN Deportes
- SEC Network
- ACC Network
- ESPN+
- ESPN on ABC events
- SECN+
- ACCNX
- NFL Network
- CW Sports
You pay $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year. There is no regular free trial. ESPN does have special offers from time to time, such as a one-month ESPN Unlimited trial for eligible new customers who buy MLB.TV.
ESPN Unlimited is made for people who follow several sports through the year. You get NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, college football and basketball, tennis, golf, soccer, WWE, and thousands of smaller events.
For a deeper look at the service itself, see our guide to the five things to know before subscribing to ESPN Unlimited.
FOX One vs ESPN Unlimited comparison
Here is where the two sports streaming services differ most.
1. Price and value
At $19.99 per month, it costs $10 less than ESPN Unlimited. Over 12 months, that is a $120 difference if you stay on the monthly plans.
ESPN costs more because you get far more live sports. The question is whether you actually watch those extra leagues.
If you know you need both services, do not pay for them separately. The official FOX One and ESPN Unlimited bundle costs $39.99 per month instead of $49.98. You save $9.99 each month, although the bundle does not include a free trial.
2. Live sports coverage
This is where ESPN Unlimited pulls ahead.
ESPN’s lineup covers more types of sports and more games across the year. ESPN Unlimited includes ESPN+ as well as all the main ESPN networks, so you get both traditional TV events and streaming-only games.
NFL coverage became even better on July 2026 when NFL Network was added to ESPN Unlimited.
You can read our ESPN Unlimited vs NFL+ Premium comparison if NFL coverage is your main reason for subscribing.
FOX One has fewer sports, but some of its rights are very important.
FOX carries NFL games on FOX, national MLB coverage, college football and basketball, Big Ten Network, INDYCAR, and part of the NASCAR season.
3. Neither service gives you every major sports channel
FOX One gives you the FOX side of the sports world. ESPN Unlimited gives you the ESPN side.
Neither one gives you everything.
For example, depending on the sport you follow, you could still need:
- CBS or Paramount+
- NBC or Peacock
- TNT or TBS
- Prime Video
- Apple TV
- NFL Sunday Ticket
- A regional sports network
- MLB.TV
- Another league-specific service
ESPN Unlimited does not include FOX, FS1, or FS2. FOX One does not include ESPN, ESPN2, SEC Network, or ACC Network.
FOX One does include a local FOX station, while ESPN Unlimited includes sporting events shown through ESPN on ABC.
