The ‘Continue Watching’ feature on Sling TV allows you to pause a show and resume watching without having to forward it. But over time, the ribbon can fill up with shows you no longer need.
So, how do you clear the ‘Continue Watching’ list on Sling TV?
The best way to clear your Sling TV history is to use a web browser. You will have to navigate to the Manage History option, find the show or film you want to delete, and remove it from the list.
Although you can use a mobile app to erase your watch history, Sling TV doesn’t allow you to delete individual titles. Therefore, you will have to delete all items at once.
How to delete your Sling TV watch history
You can clear your Sling TV history depending on your device. Here are steps to guide you through the process.
1. How to delete Sling TV watch history on desktop
If you use your desktop browser to watch movies or TV shows on Sling TV but do not finish them, you can clear your viewing history by doing the following.
- Go to Sling.com.
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to the ‘Continue Watching’ row.
- Scroll to the beginning of the ribbon and select Manage. You’ll see your viewing history or the Manage History screen.
- Select Clear All to clear everything in the list.
- Confirm that you want to delete all items from your list by clicking Yes, Delete.
The list will fill up the next time you watch a show and do not complete it.
2. How to delete individual titles from ‘Continue Watching’
Ideally, you do not have to clear recently watched titles from your ‘Continue Watching’ list. Instead, you can delete one item and leave the rest. Here is how to do it on a desktop browser.
- Go to Sling.com.
- Sign in to your account.
- Go to the ‘Continue Watching’ row.
- Scroll to the beginning of the ribbon and select Manage.
- Highlight a title you want to delete from the list.
- Click on the X in the top right corner of the show’s tile.
- Confirm your selection by clicking on Yes, Delete.
Before the confirmation dialog box opens, a checkbox asks you whether you do not want the box to appear. If you check it, you will delete all titles from your watch history without confirming your selection.
3. How to delete Sling TV watch history on mobile
Deleting Sling TV watch history on mobile is different than on desktop. Essentially, you require the latest version of the app for this to work.
Here is how:
- Open the Sling TV app on your Android or iOS device.
- Sign in to your account if necessary.
- Next, go to the ‘Continue Watching’ row.
- Select Manage by scrolling to the end of the ribbon.
- A dialog box will open asking you whether you are sure you want to remove all programs from your ‘Continue Watching’ list.
- Select OK to confirm.
Unlike the desktop version, you cannot select individual titles and clear them on mobile. Instead, you only have one option of removing your entire viewing history.
Also, the mobile app has not added the feature to disable ‘Continue Watching’ on Sling TV.
4. Clear your Sling TV cache
Another option you can try to delete your watch history is to clear your Sling TV cache. However, the steps to follow will depend on your device.
For example, you can clear the cache on your iPhone by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
However, if you have Android, find the Sling TV app in Settings, tap on Storage, and Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Have you deleted your watch history?
The steps to clear your ‘Continue Watching’ list on Sling TV will depend on your device. For example, you can remove the entire watch history or delete an individual title using your browser.
However, the Sling mobile app only allows you to clear everything, not individual titles. An alternative method is to clear the Sling TV cache and data or uninstall and reinstall the app on your iOS device.
