LG content store not working: Troubleshooting guide

Of late, there have been many complaints about the LG Content Store not working on Smart TVs. It doesn’t show up in some cases, while in others, it may take forever to load apps or doesn’t download apps.

So, how do you troubleshoot this problem?

Well, there are many ways to troubleshoot the LG content store. But first, you need to identify the origin of the issue. From our research, these are the most common causes:

  • Your internet connection could be unstable.
  • The memory is running low on your TV.
  • Your TV’s OS is out-of-date.
  • You have not set your region correctly.
  • LG is experiencing server issues.
  • You are using a VPN or proxy server.

If you cannot install apps because of an issue with your LG Content Store, troubleshoot your TV to find a permanent solution.

How to troubleshoot LG Content Store when it is not working

If the LG Content Store stopped working, try the following steps to see if you can fix the issue.

1. Check your network

The LG Content Store requires access to the internet to allow you to download apps and games. If you have unstable internet or no internet at all, the WebOS app store will not work.

Therefore, diagnose your internet issues as follows:

  1. Unplug your devices (modem, router, and TV) from their power source. Do not disconnect your Ethernet cables when unplugging the devices from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for about a minute then plug in the modem or router first and wait for the device to establish a connection.
  3. Plug in the TV once you see connectivity lights on the router or modem.
  4. Remove obstacles interfering with your network. The items may include routers using the same frequency or channel and household electronics like microwaves, monitors, and cordless phones.
  5. Connect the router directly to the TV using the Ethernet cable.
  6. Place your wireless router near the LG Smart TV to improve the signal.
  7. Conduct a speed test to ensure you have internet access. For example, a download speed of 1Mbps should help you access the LG Content Store.
  8. If you have data on your phone, connect to the internet using the hotspot mode instead of Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
