Amazon launches the all-new Fire TV Stick HD in India

Amazon has launched the new Fire TV Stick HD in India. With this device, people can easily turn regular TVs into smart streaming devices that are faster, connect better, and are easier to carry.

The device costs Rs 4,999 and is aimed at many Indian homes that still use Full HD TVs. It offers faster app launches, smoother streaming, and new features like cloud gaming, all without needing to buy a new smart TV.

What are the upgrades for the new Fire TV Stick HD?

This new model is about 30% slimmer than earlier Fire TV Sticks, making it the most portable one from Amazon so far. It can get power straight from a TV’s USB port using the new Direct Power feature, which cuts down on cables and makes setup easier for people with few outlets.

Amazon says performance is over 30% better than the previous version. This means faster startup, quicker app loading, and smoother navigation. These upgrades are helpful for families who are tired of slow, laggy devices.

The new Fire TV Stick HD supports Wi-Fi 6, so streaming should be more stable in homes with many devices. Bluetooth 5.3 also makes it easy to connect headphones, speakers, or gaming controllers.

The device streams in Full HD (1080p) and supports HDR10+ for better color and contrast on TVs that allow it. The updated Fire TV interface has separate sections for movies, TV shows, live channels, and free content.

The new interface makes it easier to find shows and movies across apps like Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar (JioHotstar), YouTube, and ZEE5. Keep in mind, you still need separate subscriptions for paid services.

Amazon Fire Stick HD adds Xbox Cloud Gaming support

For the first time on a Fire TV HD device in India, the Amazon Fire TV Stick HD supports Xbox Cloud Gaming. If you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, you can stream games right to your TV by connecting a Bluetooth controller.

This lets even people who do not own a console try out gaming without extra equipment.

This launch matters for Indian consumers because many homes rely on non-smart TVs or older models where built-in apps are slow or absent.

At under Rs 5,000, the Fire TV Stick HD provides an affordable entry into modern streaming. It will potentially save families money compared to purchasing new smart TVs while delivering faster, more reliable access to entertainment.
