Peacock got more expensive: Here are cheaper alternatives

Many people are now looking for cheaper Peacock alternatives to help keep their monthly bills under control.

NBCUniversal raised Peacock’s prices again in August 2026. Peacock Premium now costs $12.99 per month with ads, and the ad-free Premium Plus plan is $19.99 per month.

New subscribers pay these higher prices right away. Existing members will see the increase on their next bill.

If these price hikes have you rethinking your entertainment budget, you do not have to give up your favorite TV shows. Peacock offers live sports, next-day broadcast TV, blockbuster movies, and live streaming channels.

Several other streaming platforms offer similar services, channels, and content for much less, or even for free.

1. Paramount+

Paramount+

Paramount+ works a lot like Peacock. While Peacock offers live feeds, sports, and prime-time shows from NBC, Paramount+ does the same for CBS.

If you watched sports like Sunday Night Football or Big Ten games on Peacock, Paramount+ offers similar live NFL games, PGA Tour golf, and UEFA Champions League soccer.

You also get next-day access to popular dramas, reality TV, and new movies from Paramount Pictures. The essential plan costs $9.00 per month, offering almost the same services, including live sports and network shows, for much less.

2. Hulu

Hulu

If you mainly used Peacock to watch next-day broadcast TV, Hulu is the best alternative. Peacock has NBC and Bravo shows, while Hulu offers ABC, FOX, and FX programs.

Hulu gives you next-day access to major network series, prime-time hits, and a large library of reality TV. Its ad-supported plan starts at $11.99 per month and offers more TV options than Peacock.

Hulu does not include live sports unless you upgrade to the full live TV plan. Its large collection of prime-time shows and original movies makes it a great choice for fans of traditional TV.

3. ESPN Select

ESPN+

If you used Peacock just for live sports, ESPN Select (formerly ESPN+) is the best sports-focused alternative. It offers live games, sports news, and documentaries, just like Peacock.

ESPN Select costs $12.99 per month, the same as Peacock’s new base price, but focuses entirely on live sports. You get many NHL games, PGA Tour events, La Liga and Bundesliga soccer, UFC fights, and college sports.

If you are not interested in sitcoms or reality TV and just want live sports, ESPN Select gives you much more sports content for your money.

4. Pluto TV

Peacock has many streaming channels for background viewing, like news, crime shows, and sitcoms. Pluto TV offers the same channels but is completely free.

Pluto TV has a huge list of live channels that run all day, every day. You can browse streams for classic sitcoms, crime shows, news, and sports highlights.

Pluto TV is free and does not require an account, making it an easy, stress-free replacement for Peacock’s live channels.

5. Tubi

Tubi TV

Tubi has a large collection of classic TV shows and movies, like Peacock’s old free tier. It uses short ad breaks to keep everything free for viewers.

Tubi has an on-demand library with thousands of movies, classic TV shows, and special category sections. It lacks live sports and next-day episodes but is a great free option for movie nights and binge-watching TV series.

6. Disney+

Disney+ does not have live sports or next-day network TV, but it is a great choice for family shows, animated classics, and big movie releases, just like Peacock.

If you want to keep watching the English Premier League or Sunday Night Football on Peacock, you can still save money without canceling.

  • Switch to an annual plan: Paying upfront for a year costs less than month-to-month.
  • Check for wireless and internet perks: Many cable, internet, and mobile providers offer Peacock access or discounts to their customers.
  • Combine different apps: Use a free service like Tubi for movies and a low-cost sports app to get the same variety as Peacock for less money.
  • Try an over-the-air HD antenna: If you want to watch major network sports like NFL, Sunday Night Football, college football, golf, and other big events without a monthly fee, you can buy an indoor HD antenna for $20–$30. This gives you local NBC, CBS, FOX, and ABC channels in high definition for free.
