Peacock has raised prices for all its streaming plans this month, so many households may need to review their monthly streaming budgets.
NBCUniversal says subscription costs for all Peacock plans are increasing immediately for new sign-ups. Existing subscribers will see higher rates on their bills starting September 2026.

What users will pay starting this month
The new prices apply to monthly and annual subscriptions for all three plan levels. Here is how the pricing breaks down:
- The ad-supported Peacock Select plan moves from $7.99 to $8.99 per month (or $89.99 per year).
- The standard Peacock Premium plan, which includes live sports, original programming, and movies with ads, jumps from $10.99 to $12.99 per month ($129.99 per year).
- The mostly ad-free Peacock Premium Plus tier sees the sharpest jump, moving from $16.99 to $19.99 per month ($199.99 per year).
This is the fourth consecutive year Peacock has raised its prices
This price hike continues a steady trend. When Peacock launched in 2020, its main Premium plan cost $4.99 per month and stayed that price until early 2023.
After four years of annual increases, subscribers on the ad-supported Premium plan now pay more than twice what they paid three years ago.
When the new prices take effect for current and new subscribers
When the rate change takes effect depends on your subscription. New customers and returning subscribers who reactivate accounts will pay the higher prices starting August 18, 2026.
If you have a monthly subscription, you will see the new rate on your first bill on or after September 17, 2026. If you are on a fixed annual plan or using a promotional discount, your current price stays the same until your billing period or promotion ends.
Why Peacock is raising prices for subscribers
Peacock is raising prices as streaming services try to increase revenue per user. Even though NBCUniversal just had its first profitable quarter for streaming, it still faces rising licensing and production costs.
Big investments in live broadcast rights, such as deals for major league sports and exclusive streaming of blockbuster movies, have also increased Peacock’s operating costs.
Ways subscribers can manage their monthly streaming budget
If you want to lower your monthly costs, you have a few options. Monthly subscribers can switch to an annual plan before their September renewal to lock in the current yearly rate.
You can also switch to a lower plan, but the base Select plan does not include live sports, feature films, or original shows.
You can manage, downgrade, or cancel your subscription right from your account settings on Peacock’s website.
If you are ready to cancel, you can switch to a cheaper streaming service.
- Paramount+ ($8.99/month with ads) is a direct competitor, offering broadcast TV, big movie releases, and live NFL games.
- Prime Video ($8.99/month on its own) and Apple TV+ ($9.99/month) both offer high-quality original shows at lower prices.
- If you are looking to save even more, you can try free ad-supported TV platforms like Tubi and Pluto TV. They offer lots of live channels and on-demand movies with no monthly fees.
You can also choose discounted Disney+ and Hulu bundles to get more for your entertainment budget.
