NBCUniversal and Google launched Peacock Premium Plus on YouTube Primetime Channels on Monday, June 29, 2026.
Now, viewers can buy, manage, and watch all of Peacock’s premium content right on YouTube, without needing the separate Peacock app.

What is included with Peacock Premium Plus on YouTube Primetime Channels?
This new option is both convenient and affordable. For $16.99 per month, subscribers get instant access to live sports, big Universal movies, and popular Bravo reality shows.
If you subscribe through YouTube, you can also use your Google login to sign into the Peacock app on other devices.
The plan also lets you watch a live stream of your local NBC station. You can get local news and shows right on YouTube, without needing a full YouTube TV subscription.
If you want the cheaper, ad-supported plan, it is not available yet. Right now, only the Premium Plus tier is offered through YouTube, and it includes standard content with very limited ads.
However, Google says the cheaper, ad-supported plan will be available later this summer.
Some important technical details were missing from the first announcement. For example, you cannot use DVR to save live broadcasts at launch.
You cannot record live sports or local NBC shows to your library. But you can pause and rewind live streams as you watch.
Why is this launch happening now?
The launch is timed to meet demand for live global events. If you subscribe through YouTube, you get access to Telemundo’s Spanish-language coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
To help you decide, Google is offering a free 10-minute preview of live World Cup matches on the Telemundo Deportes YouTube channel. This lets you try it out before choosing to subscribe.
What can subscribers watch?

Besides sports, popular shows like Love Island USA, The Real Housewives, and The Office are now available to YouTube’s 2.4 billion users. You can watch them on any device with the YouTube app, like your phone, tablet, or smart TV.
This setup also helps by combining your entertainment bills into one monthly Google payment. It’s easier to manage, but people who want a totally ad-free experience might still see a few ads.
Even with the “Premium Plus” label, some live events and licensing deals mean you will still see a few ads during certain programs.
If you really dislike commercials, this experience is not completely ad-free, but it is the same as what you’d get on the regular Peacock app.
This launch helps solve the “app fatigue” problem from the early 2020s. Now, instead of switching between slow apps, you can use YouTube as your all-in-one place for both user videos and premium shows.
