Ashley Lytton, Jason Lytonn’s wife, shares the devastating story of her husband’s betrayal in this true-crime Hulu docuseries.
She narrates how the ordeal has affected their family since the discovery of child sexual abuse images on Jason’s devices.
In the episodes, Ashley admits she found the pictures on Jason’s laptop while helping him set up a Venmo account.
The shock and disbelief caused her to confide in her brother-in-law, Justin Lytton, who tried to convince her not to report the matter to the authorities.
The images were so disturbing that she made a choice to report the matter and even helped the police arrest her husband. During the investigations, the cops revealed to Ashley that Jason had upwards of 1,000 photos, as well as several homemade videos featuring underage girls.
It also was uncovered that Jason had secretly filmed his step-daughter Avaya, sometimes even naked.
Ashley and Jason’s reconciliation
According to the docuseries, Ashley tried reconnecting with Jason before his sentencing but cut ties with him after. She explains that her decision was influenced by the need to bring her family back together.
The evidence against her husband helped her realize that the damage that he had caused was extensive and irreparable.
Jason served a 10-month sentence and was released for good behaviour. He now resides in Riverton, Utah, in the same area as Ashley and the kids.
Divorce, child custody, and separation battle
Despite being a registered sex offender, Jason is still allowed supervised visits with his daughter Olivia, whom he shares with Ashley.
Ashley and her family have raised concerns about the lack of limitations on the visits. According to Utah law, due to reunification laws, these visits could also shift to unsupervised visits and sleepovers with Olivia.
The divorce proceedings are ongoing as the two continue living separately. Jason is entitled to get half of Ashley’s assets in the settlement. Ashley continues to live in Riverton, Utah, as she works to overcome the challenges of her husband’s crimes.
