Peacock subscribers can now stream the World Cup 2026 in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

Peacock subscribers will be able to stream all 104 FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. The streaming platform will broadcast Telemundo’s Spanish-language coverage of the tournament, with live matches, replays, and a host of features for fans. 

NBCUniversal has also announced that it will deploy Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technology for World Cup coverage. This will allow football fans to enjoy a premium audiovisual experience for all of the tournament’s matches.

Peacock will be the only streaming platform offering World Cup 2026 in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos with Dolby AC-4. The tournament will also be the first time the audiovisual technology will be deployed on a streaming platform.

According to a press release by NBCUniversal and Dolby Laboratories, Dolby Atmos offers astonishing picture quality, while Dolby AC-4 delivers clearer sound with 50% more efficiency. 

Both companies have praised the use of technology for the upcoming tournament, with John Couling, Dolby Laboratories Senior Vice President of Entertainment, stating: 

There is no bigger stage in sports, and now Peacock viewers will experience every moment the way it was meant to be seen and heard. From the energy of the crowd to the emotion on the field, every goal scored, Dolby helps bring fans closer to the experience.”

The sentiments were also echoed by NBCUniversal, which has promised an unforgettable experience to football fans on Peacock

Other Peacock streaming features for World Cup coverage 

Besides Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, Peacock is also offering a host of other features for football fans. The platform has launched a dedicated World Cup Hub, which will include live matches, replays, tournament schedules, and team news.

Peacock will also offer Visión de Campo, a mobile-optimized vertical viewing feature. It will offer exclusive camera angles, with Team A and Team B cameras, as well as the main broadcast feed.

Subscribers will also be able to watch World Cup matches concurrently with the Multiview feature. This will be available on days when multiple matches are airing concurrently, with an option to switch audio between streams.

  • Momentos que no te quieres perder (Can’t Miss Highlights) offered in real-time vertical clips.
  • Tu Bracket – custom brackets for fans from the quarterfinals stage.
  • Interactive tournament schedules. 
  • Key Plays – highlight clips allowing fans to catch key moments of the match that happened before they tuned into a live broadcast.
