Netflix and French media company TF1 Group have reached a first-of-a-kind distribution deal. The deal, which went live on June 19, 2026, will offer Netflix subscribers in France access to TF1 live channels and on-demand content at no extra cost.
The distribution deal marks the first time a traditional broadcaster’s entire offering has been integrated into a major streaming platform. It is also the first time Netflix has carried live linear feeds from a third-party service in its interface.

What content will Netflix subscribers get from the TF1 deal?
The Netflix and TF1 Group’s deal will offer subscribers in France access to the entire TF1 and TF1+ catalogue. Live broadcast from TF1 linear channels: TF1, TFX, TMC, TF1 Séries Films, and LCI (a 24-hour news channel).
Subscribers will also get access to major live sporting events, including major football matches involving the French team (does not include FIFA World Cup 2026) and the Rugby Nations Championship.
In addition to the live content, subscribers will also enjoy a large selection of on-demand content, including the entire TF1+ library, with over 30,000 hours of content. This will include several films, dramas, soaps, reality TV series, and competition shows.

Netflix’s co-CEO, Greg Peters, has praised the deal with TF1 as one that will improve subscribers’ choice of entertainment:
“People have more entertainment choices than ever, so we have to consistently give them the best variety of TV and films in a seamless and personalized way. Our partnership with TF1 brings together two strong, complementary content offerings in a world-class user experience, delivering even more entertainment value for our members in France.”
Rodolphe Belmer, TF1 Group’s CEO, also expressed similar sentiments:
“Netflix subscribers will now get to enjoy the very best of TF1 television like never before — from our news programs and biggest rugby and football matches to beloved shows like Star Academy and Koh-Lanta, and major drama events like Été 36″
Important technical details of the deal
While the Netflix distribution deal is monumental, there are some technical details that subscribers should be aware of.
For starters, the deal is only available to subscribers in France. However, TF1 has expanded to Africa and other countries in Europe, so its content may become available in other Netflix libraries soon.
Subscribers should also be aware that they will be exposed to TF1 commercials when watching TF1 and TF1+ content. This will apply even to subscribers on ad-free Netflix plans.
Lastly, the TF1 live channels will only be available on connected TVs and web browsers, although mobile app support may be coming soon.
