Netflix has cancelled the adult animated series Strip Law after just one season. Strip Law’s creator, Cullen Crawford, confirmed that the series had come to an end.
Taking the news on the social media platform BlueSky, he thanks fans for giving the 10-episode series that premiered on Netflix in February 2026 a chance.

“So they told me there’s not going to be any more strip law at Netflix; I really can’t be anything but grateful. At every phase, it was made by talented people in pursuit of nothing but pure, chaotic, delirious joy, and I’m so, so proud of it. Thank you to everyone who gave it a chance; I thought it was funny,” he wrote.
“Also, there’s a whole lot of shit we were going to do, but I’ll give y’all one little huge secret since BlueSky has been such a fucking champion for this show. Eventually, in the series finale, you’d have learnt that this guy from the credits…turns out to be Lincoln. The cards are from Sheila in the pilot,” he added.
Despite the short stay, the series achieved favourable ratings, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it 75% while IMDb rated the animated series 6/10.
What was strip law about?
The series followed lawyer Lincoln Gumb, who wasn’t winning cases until he met with a local magician, Shila Flambe, to bring some flash to cases the city assigned them.
Each episode was filled with weird pop culture references and sight gags.
The Strip Law cast included Shannon Gisela playing Irene Gumb, Adam Scott playing Lawyer Lincoln Gumb, Keith David portraying Steve Nichols, and Janelle James as Sheila Flambe.
The guest voices for the series included George Wallace, Jim Rash, Paul F. Thompkins, Joel McHale, Tom Kenny, Chris Elliott, Johnny Knoxville, Patton Oswalt, LeVar Burton, Tim Heidecker, and ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic, as well as Paget Brewster.
How did fans react to Strip Law’s cancellation?

Some fans praised the show’s unique humour, originality, and talented cast, telling creator Cullen he should be proud of what the team achieved.
“Aw, man, so sorry, Cullen. It was incredibly funny; the joke hit rate was amazing. It was original and weird and had a killer cast. You should be proud as hell. Sorry, I liked it; that seems to be the doom of so many shows,” a user stated.
Others highlighted memorable comedic moments, with one saying a scene in the first episode was among the funniest things they had seen on television.
“That Cleveland rocks needle drop in E1 is perhaps the hardest I’ve laughed at anything on television in ages,” a user wrote on BlueSky.
Fellow creators criticised Netflix’s lack of promotion for some shows while applauding Strip Law as a fantastic series.
“From one ‘showrunner of a Netflix cartoon cancelled straight away’ to another, I totally understand the mix of emotions. It is annoying that they have the power to make any show a hit, yet for many shows, they just don’t bother to use it. But it was a fantastic show; be very proud of it,” another user said.
