My resolution falls under point #2 I suppose … after returning several boxes and the new box would work great for a couple weeks then I’d start getting errors again … most recently I could get all channels from 1-24 to work but any higher would show the Retreiving channel info error with no picture … my fix was going to the basement and removing an old splitter from the equation … may have been of poor quality or sporadically failing … I had the splitter between the incoming cable line and the modem … I removed it and everything started working again immediately …. hope this helps someone out there!
