Swisscom makes blue TV replay smarter ahead of the World Cup

Swisscom is adding new Replay features to blue TV. These will make it much easier for you to find the moments you want to watch.

The update arrives just before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It focuses on helping you reach key highlights faster instead of scrolling through entire programs or matches.

Here is what to know about the update:

World Cup highlights will be available almost instantly

During the World Cup, blue TV will now give you the option to jump directly to the most crucial moments from a match.

Instead of manually fast-forwarding through 90 minutes of action, you could select key events and watch them with a single click. This could be anything that you want to catch up on, like goals or major scoring opportunities. You could also jump to red cards and other decisive moments.

All these will be available through Replay shortly after they happen.

Swisscom says these highlights will be available for most free-to-air channels carrying the tournament. This includes matches shown on SRG SSR channels as well as broadcasters such as Das Erste, ZDF, RAI, and BBC.

blue TV adds chapter navigation

Swisscom is also expanding Replay with chapter navigation for selected programs from SRG SSR broadcasters.

The feature breaks programs into sections, allowing viewers to jump directly to individual stories or topics instead of watching from the beginning.

Chapter navigation is being added to several news, magazine, and sports programs across Switzerland’s public broadcasters. Examples include:

  • SRF programs such as 10 vor 10, Sportpanorama, and Happy Day
  • RTS programs including Le 12h45
  • RSI programs such as Prima ora

The chapters will appear shortly after broadcast and will also be searchable through blue TV’s search function.

Why should you care?

Streaming platforms have spent years making it easier to find content, but traditional TV often still requires viewers to search through long recordings or Replay sessions.

Swisscom’s new features aim to solve that problem. This is by reducing the time you usually use to find specific moments. The platform will now take you directly to any section of the fixture that you want to see.

The update shows a growing trend where viewers expect faster access to important moments. More and more people do not want to watch entire programs to find such moments.
