Fix Vizio Smart TV Apps Not Working

You can also install any application that you want, including web browser, Amazon Prime, YouTube TV, Netflix, and Spotify, among others.

But there are times when you encounter an error where Vizio Smart TV apps are not working.

When an application on the Vizio Smart TV is not working, the first thing you will see is a black screen. In other cases, you will be unable to get the app settings to come up.

But what could be the problem? Several factors can explain why the applications are not working.

  • Your internet connection is poor
  • You have an outdated app
  • You are not using the correct DNS settings

Identifying the main reason why apps are not working on Vizio TV will enable you to fix the problem. Here are the possible solutions you can consider:

1. Check Internet access on the TV

The most common cause of this problem is internet connection issues. Check your TV’s internet access settings first and rectify any issues you get.

Here is how to check internet access:

  • Press the Menu button on the remote.
  • Scroll to the Network section and press OK.
  • Go to Test Connection and press OK.

You will see information displayed about your network connection. The page will finish loading, and you should look for “Download.”

If the TV can access the internet, you will see the download speed in kilobytes per second. Ideally, you should have at least 1,000 Kbps to access the apps. Any speed lower than that will cause issues.

If you are using Wi-Fi to connect to the internet and you are getting a problem, connect your TV directly to the Ethernet cable.

You can also use your computer to test your internet speed through Speedtest.

2. Reset individual app

If an app is not working, you should consider resetting it. You can reset apps on Vizio Smart TV through the steps below:
