Car enthusiasts are always in for a trip when the crew of Iron Resurrection takes on a new challenge: restoring rundown vehicles and motorcycles.
The series is led by Joe Martin, his wife Amanda, and his best friend, Jayson “Shag” Arrington.

They were joined by charismatic paint shop owner Javier Ponce, known more frequently as “Shorty” from season 1 to season 3.
When Did Shorty leave Iron Resurrection?
Javier Ponce, Shorty, made his debut on Iron Resurrection in 2016 and stayed on for seasons 1, 2 and 3 before he abruptly left the show in 2020. He appeared in a total of 23 episodes between 2016 and 2018.
Many fans raised concerns over his whereabouts after he failed to appear in season 4 of the show.
Due to his charisma and infectious energy, he quickly became a fan favorite, and his absence was quite noticeable.

Reasons for his departure
According to the show’s official statement, Shorty became a grandfather and wanted to spend more time with his family.
Shorty went live on Facebook to address the situation and provide some clarity. In his statement, he explained that his decision to leave Iron Resurrection was primarily driven by his desire to prioritize his family and business.
Given his new role as a grandfather and his intentions of expanding his shop in Dallas, the constant travel between Austin and Dallas was becoming hectic.
By taking a break from the show, he aimed to allocate more time and energy towards expanding his business ventures.
Life after leaving Iron Resurrection

Since leaving the TV show, Shorty has continued to work on and expand his business, Shorty’s Custom Paint.
He had his reality TV show that focused on transforming cars into owners’ dreams. The show, Shorty’s Dream Shop, had two seasons from 2022 to 2024 on MotorTrend.
The “Shorty’s Dream Shop” premiere episode was released on November 17th, 2022. As expected, the show has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response, with fans expressing their admiration for Shorty’s work.
It is safe to say that Shorty is thriving in his business and personal life as he continues to enjoy the things he loves.
