1. Kalyna Astrinos
Kalyna Astrinos is the morning news anchor for KCAL 9 News, covering the 4 a.m. newscast. She is the channel’s traffic reporter for the morning news and the host of The Morning Wrap show.
She graduated with a Psychology degree from the University of California, Irvine.
Kalyna started her career as a radio broadcaster in college, then worked for radio stations such as 102.7 KIISFM, ALT 98.7, KFI AM 640, ABC 7 Eyewitness News, and KTNV ABC Las Vegas after graduating.
She has covered many stories, including traffic, severe weather, wildfires, entertainment, and more.
In addition, during her time at KNTV ABC Las Vegas, she won Emmy awards for covering the Black Lives Matter protests and as an anchor in the best morning show.
According to Astrinos’ Instagram profile, she is married and has a dog. However, she has not shared much about her personal life.
2. Chauncy Glover
Chauncey Glover is the evening news anchor at KCAL-TV, delivering the 5 p.m., 8 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts. He joined KCAL 9News in 2023 from KTRK ABC-13 in Houston.
Glover was interested in being a news anchor from a very young age. At 5, his father built him a mini anchor desk, where he used to perform newscasts for his family.
He turned his passion for news into a career and attended Troy University, where he studied broadcast journalism, music, and theater. Besides journalism, he also holds a degree in public affairs.
Glover has made a name for himself with his special in-depth reports, which have led to several awards.
He has won three Emmy awards for his live reporting in Detroit and live reporting during Hurricane Harvey, during which he rescued a pregnant woman trapped in floods.
Chauncey Glover is not married. However, he used to joke about Mayra Moreno, his ABC13 co-anchor, being his “work wife,” which caused many people to assume they were a couple.
3. Juan Fernandez
Juan Fernandez is an evening news anchor at KCAL9, presenting the 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts. He has worked for the CBS channel since 1996.
He attended Florida State University, graduating with a BA degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism.
After college, he worked as a reporter for WLTV/Univision and WSVN-TV and also spent some time at Telemundo magazine before joining KCAL9.
Fernandez has covered several big stories during his career, including re-entering the space shuttle Endeavour and presidential visits.
He is also an Emmy-award-winning journalist and has won a Golden Mide Award for the best 30-minute newscast.

4. Pat Harvey
Pat Harvey is a seasoned American broadcast journalist who anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 9 p.m., and 11 p.m. news on KCAL 9.
She has been anchoring news for the channel since 1989 and holds the record for the longest-running primetime news anchor in one station in Los Angeles.
Harvey attended the University of Detroit Mercy and holds two honorary doctorate degrees in humanities.
Before joining KCAL-TV, she was a news anchor for WNEM TV5 (Bay City), CNN, and WGN-TV (Chicago).
She has covered major local, national, and international news.
Her highlights include the OJ Simpson trial, George Bush’s inauguration, the El Salvador civil war, East Africa’s AIDS epidemic, Pope Benedict XVI’s installation, and South Africa’s first all-race elections.
Pat Harvey is married to Ken Lombard, a real estate developer. They have three children and grandchildren (Kaiya, Emi, and Sydni).
5. Chris Holmstrom
Chris Holmstrom is a weekday morning anchor for KCAL 9 news. He joined the channel in 2018 as a reporter and weekend anchor.
He attended Northern Arizona University, where he studied journalism with a minor in international communication. While in college, he worked as an intern at KNAZ-TV in Arizona.
After college, Holmstrom worked as a weekend anchor/reporter for KNDU (California), KOLD 13 News (Tucson, Arizona), and KOIN-TV (Portland) before joining KCAL 9.
In 2012, he won a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award for the Best Newscast in the medium market.
6. Marci Gonzalez
Marci Gonzalez is a morning anchor for the KCAL 9 News team. She joined the channel in 2022 from ABC News, where she had spent over nine years as a correspondent.
Gonzalez developed a passion for being a TV reporter at a young age. She did televised morning announcements in elementary school and presented morning news in middle and high school.
She attended the University of Central Florida and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism. While in college, she gained experience working as an intern for WOFL and Central Florida News.
After college, she worked for News 12, WPTV, WABC-TV, and America Most Wanted (as a producer).
She then moved to ABC News, where she made a name for herself, covering big stories like the Newton school mass shooting and the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.
Marci Gonzalez is married to Jory Rand, a reporter and anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News. They have three children.
7. Rudabeh Shahbazi
Rudabeh Shahbazi is a co-anchor for the KCAL 9 News morning show. She is a three-time Emmy award-winning journalist who joined the channel in 2023 from NewsNation in Chicago.
Rudabeh graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and Sociology from Pepperdine University. She also has an M.A. in Journalism and Television Production from the University of California, Berkeley.
After college, she got her start in journalism by working as a news assistant for KTVU in San Francisco.
She then went on to work for other media outlets, such as KEPR (Pasco, Washington), KNXV (Arizona), KABC (Los Angeles), and WFOR (Miami).
Shahbazi has made a name for herself by covering major stories.
Some of her top highlights include covering Joe Biden’s inauguration, the Black Lives Matter protests, Florida’s Surfside condo collapse, and the Pulse Night Club & Fort Lauderdale airport shootings.
8. Amy Johnson
Amy Johnson is an anchor and reporter for KCAL-TV (Channel 9). She is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has worked at the channel since 2005.
Johnson was interested in being a TV news reporter from a young age. She graduated with an Associate of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Bernadino Valley College.
Johnson later attended California Baptist University on a volleyball scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English.
After college, she worked for several outlets like KCBY-TV (Oregon), WOLO TV (South Carolina), WISN-TV (Wisconsin), and WHDH-TV (Boston).
Amy Johnson is married. She lives in Ventura County, California, with her husband (a military pilot) and they have two sons together.
9. Jamie Yuccas
Jamie Yuccas is a co-anchor for the KCAL 9 News morning show and the national correspondent for CBS News.
She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
While in college, she gained journalism experience as a reporter and weekend anchor for KXLT-TV in Rochester, Minnesota.
After college, Yuccas joined WBBH in Florida before moving to CBS as a correspondent.
At CBS, she covered several major stories, including the Pulse nightclub shooting, the Rio Olympics, the 2016 presidential campaign, and more.
Her work has received three Emmy Awards, two for reporting on the CBS Mornings and CBS Evening News. In 2012, she won another Emmy Award for covering Hurricane Sunday.
Jamie Yuccas is married to Douglas Green, and she is the step-mom to his son. She was previously married to businessman John Sheehan, but they divorced in 2017.
10. Suzie Suh
Suzie Suh is a Korean-American journalist, born in South Korea and raised in California.
She presents the 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts at KCAL and was the first Korean-American to become an anchor for English-language primetime news in Los Angeles.
Suh attended the University of California, San Diego, where she studied communication. She began her career as a photographer, anchor, reporter, editor, and producer at KCFW-TV in Montana.
She later worked as a reporter, assignment editor, and anchor in Las Vegas before joining KCAL 9 News in 2005 as a general assignment reporter.
In addition to being an anchor, she is a dance instructor and teaches hip-hop dance. She is also a dancer and has been dancing in various styles, such as jazz and ballet since she was six.
Suzie Suh is married to a partner she met through matchmaking by her colleague. She is also a mother to two children.
