List of all F1 TV presenters and commentators in 2024

F1 TV app users can enjoy live coverage of Formula One races, race replays, expert analysis, behind-the-scenes content, and more.

They can also enjoy live presenting and commentary by an experienced team of F1 TV presenters and commentators. 

The F1 TV presenting and commentary team for this year includes top talent like Will Buxton, Laura Winter, Ruth Buscombe, and Alex Jacques.

Below is a look at all these personalities, what they do at F1 TV, and other interesting facts about them. 

1. Will Buxton

Will Buxton is a British motorsports journalist who works as a presenter for F1 TV. 

He attended the University of Leads, where he studied political science. While at the university, he gained journalism experience by working at the Leeds Student Radio and the Leeds Student Newspaper. 

Buxton is famous for his work as a motorsports journalist and has worked for several outfits, such as GPWeek Magazine, Formula One Group, Fox Sports, and NBC Sports.

As of now, he is the digital presenter for F1 TV and the official F1 YouTube Channel. 

Buxton is married to Victoria Heylar, a former Racing Point F1 Team marketing manager. They have a daughter together, and he has another daughter with his former partner. 

2. Laura Winter

Laura Winter is a sports presenter, reporter, commentator, event host, and one of the most famous personalities where F1 TV presenters and commentators are concerned.

She attended Loughborough University, where she studied English and gained experience in journalism by working for LSUTV and LSU media. 

Winter became famous for her work as a sports journalist, especially as an F1 TV presenter. She is also a rugby reporter for BT Sport, an NBC reporter and commentator for the Women’s Cycling Tour of California, and a rowing reporter for BT Sports. 

She also covers several other sports, such as tennis, rallycross, swimming, netball, cricket, the Paralympics, and more, for various media outlets such as BBC, Eurosport, ITV Sport, ViaPlay, and Extreme E.

Winter is not married. She was previously in a relationship (that ended in 2019) where she was a victim of domestic abuse, leaving her suffering from PTSD for months. 

3. Ruth Buscombe

Ruth Buscombe is a motorsports engineer, race strategist, F1 analyst, and TV presenter. She studied Aerospace and Thermal engineering at Cambridge University.

After college, she worked as an engineer and race strategist for various outfits, such as Scuderia Ferrari, Haas F1 Team, and Sauber Motorsport AG. 

She is the latest addition to the F1 TV presenters and commentators lineup, having joined the channel in May 2024 as a race strategy analyst and presenter. In addition to her work at F1 TV, she is an FIA Girls on Tack Ambassador (UK). 

Ruth Buscombe is married to Nathan Divey, a former Mercedes mechanic. They were married in London on August 3, 2024.  

4. Alex Jacques

Alex Jacques is a British sports broadcaster and commentator. He studied politics at the university, but his interest in media led him to work for the university’s radio station, newspaper, and local hospital radio station. 

Jacques started his career by covering football and other sports for BBC Radio. He then moved motorsports, starting with GP3 and GP2 before covering F3, F2, and finally, F1. 

He is one of the top motorsports commentators and is famous for covering top events like Formula 1, the W Series, the Indy 500, the Porsche Supercup, and the 24 hours of Le Mans. 

As of now, Jacques is the lead commentator for F1 TV. He also does Formula One commentary for Channel 4 and covers Formula 2. 

Unfortunately, he has not revealed much about his personal life, and it is unclear if he is married or in a relationship.

5. Jolyon Palmer

Jolyon Palmer is a British motorsport commentator and columnist. He is the son of former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer, and he followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a race car driver. 

After university, he worked as a test driver for the Lotus Formula One team before becoming a full-time race driver.

He has participated in several events, from Formula Palmer Audi to FIA Formula Two, GP2 Series, and ultimately Formula One. 

After his racing career ended in 2018, Palmer entered the media, working for several outfits, including BBC Radio 5, Sky Sports F1, and GP2 Diary.

As of now, he is a commentator for F1 TV and other news outlets, such as BBC Sports and Channel 4. 

6. Lawrence Barretto

Lawrence Barretto is a motorsports journalist, presenter, reporter, and writer. He attended Bournemouth University, where he studied multimedia journalism. 

After college, he worked as a freelance journalist before joining KPH Consulting as a PR manager specializing in Formula One. He has also worked for other media outlets like Sport Magazine, BBC Sport, Autosport, and Whisper. 

For most of his career, Barretto specialized in motorsports, especially Formula One. As of today, he is a correspondent and presenter for F1 TV, covering on- and off-track events. 

Lawrence Barretto is married to Sabrina Barretto. The couple tied the knot on July 16, 2023. 

7. Rossana Tennant

Rossana Tennant is a broadcast journalist, presenter, reporter, and commentator. She attended Durham University where she studied English and French before getting her MBA in broadcast journalism from City University of London. 

While at Durham University, she worked for Palatinate Newspaper and Purple Radio. After college, she started in the media industry by working as a guest producer for Sky before moving on to other outlets like Influence Sports & Media, ITN, and IMG Media.

Tennant is famous for her work as a motorsports journalist, having worked for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and Sky Sports F1. She is also commentator on F1 TV and hosts a motorsport show, Racing Torque, on BBC Sounds.

Rossana Tennant is married to former rugby player Grant Pointer, and they have a son together. 

8. James Hinchcliffe

James Hinchcliffe is a motorsports commentator, analyst, and former race car driver. 

He started racing as a kid, initially competing at the Bridgestone Racing Academy go-kart competition. He has competed in competitions such as Formula BMW USA, Champ Car Atlantic Series, A1 Grand Prix, Firestone Indy Lights Series, and IndyCar Series. 

 In 2021, he retired from racing and joined NBC Sports as an analyst and commentator for the IndyCar Series. He also does occasional Formula One commentary for Channel 4 and F1 TV. 

James Hinchcliffe is married to Canadian actress Rebecca Dalton, his high school sweetheart. The couple married on August 3, 2019. 

9. David Coulthard

David Coulthard is a motorsports journalist, presenter, commentator, and race car driver. 

He began racing at eleven, competing in the Formula 300 and the British Formula Ford Championship series.

His career picked up over the years, culminating in 14 years in Formula One, where he posted 62 podium finishes and 13 Grand Pix victories.

After retiring from racing, he started a career as a journalist, working for media outlets such as BBC, Via Play, and Channel 4 as a Formula One presenter, commentator, and analyst. He is also a regular guest commentator for F1 TV.  

Coulthard is in a relationship with Swedish model Sigrid Silversand. He was previously married to Belgian TV presenter Karen Minier (divorced 2022), and they have a son together. 

10. Sam Collins

Sam Collins is another top talent in the F1 TV presenters and commentators lineup for this year.

He is a motorsports engineer who studied at Oxford Brookes University, where he also founded the Formula Brookes Motor Club. 

After university, he joined Motorsport News as a columnist and technical writer. Since then, he has held other roles in organizations such as Rally of Kent, Racecar Engineering Magazine, SS Collins Ltd., and RacingCircuits.info. 

Apart from his career as an engineer and motorsports journalist, Collins has also dabbled in racing, both in single-seater and rally race cars.

As of now, he is a technical analyst for F1 TV.
