The YouTube TV Sports Plan gives you live sports without making you pay for more than 100 channels. It keeps the main sports networks, local stations, unlimited DVR storage, and multiview.
The lower price comes with a much smaller channel list. You could also need extra services for some NFL games and local teams.

1. You save $18 a month compared with the Base Plan
The Sports Plan costs $64.99 per month. The regular YouTube TV Base Plan costs $82.99. Hence, the Sports Plan saves you $18 each month. That adds up to $216 over a full year.
New subscribers currently get a larger discount. The official Sports Plan page lists the following offer:
- $54.99 per month. This is for the first 12 months
- $64.99 per month after the offer ends
- A 10-day free trial for eligible new users
- No annual contract
- Offer ends August 26, 2026
At the discounted price, you save $120 during your first year. Your plan renews at the regular price unless you cancel.
The deal is good if you only want sports. The value becomes weaker once you start adding extra channel packages. You could soon pay close to the Base Plan price while still missing its entertainment and news channels.
2. The 34-channel lineup covers many national games
The Sports Plan includes 34 channels, although your local lineup depends on your home ZIP code.

All these selections cover a lot of events:
- Local and national NFL games on included networks
- NBA and NHL games shown nationally
- College football and basketball
- March Madness
- Golf
- WNBA games
- Soccer and other sports on TUDN and the main broadcast networks
3. You will not get every game
A long sports channel list does not mean every game is included. Sports rights are split between national networks, local stations, regional networks, and separate streaming services.
Your local stations are included where available. Still, you should enter your ZIP code on YouTube TV before subscribing. Local station access and regional sports coverage differ by area.
This is most important for NBA, MLB, and NHL fans. Many local games air on regional sports networks. Do not assume the Sports Plan carries the network that shows your home team.
NFL coverage also has several gaps.
4. Multiview and unlimited DVR are included
The Sports Plan keeps the best YouTube TV features. You get unlimited cloud DVR space. You also have six personal accounts for one household and three streams at the same time.
Unlimited storage does not mean permanent recordings. Programs normally stay in your library for up to nine months. Each household member gets a separate profile, recommendations, and DVR library.
YouTube TV also now lets you build your own multiview combinations from eligible programs.
5. It is worth it for the right sports fan
The YouTube TV Sports Plan is worth $64.99 if most of your viewing happens on national sports networks. It is the best for college sports and March Madness. It also covers nationally shown NBA and NHL games, golf, and NFL games carried by local or national channels.
You should skip it if your favorite local team depends on a missing regional network. It is also a poor fit for a household that watches news, children’s shows, reality television, movies, or general entertainment.
