The Netherlands now has a fresh way to enjoy the best of British television without a cable subscription. BBC Studios Benelux has just launched BBC NL+.
This is a streaming and on-demand platform featuring curated dramas, comedies, documentaries, lifestyle shows, and more, all with Dutch subtitles.
The launch
As of July 21, BBC NL+ has been launched on two major Dutch services:
- NLZIET, the popular streaming hub combining Dutch broadcasters, now offers the BBC catalog free of charge for its subscribers
- KPN TV+, the telecom giant’s smart TV service, integrated the platform earlier this year following a similar partnership.
This launch aligns with BBC Studios’ global push into direct-to-consumer streaming. With increasing demand for British content abroad, and a viewership surge on linear BBC NL, BBC NL+ spreads that popularity even further.

What’s in the lineup?
BBC NL+ gives you access to a wide range of top-tier BBC content:
- Drama and Crime: Vienna Blood, Death in Paradise, Miss Scarlet and the Duke, Father Brown, and the premiere of Outrageous starring Bessie Carter and Anna Chancellor.
- Comedy and Entertainment: Absolutely Fabulous, The Great British Bake Off (Series 13), The Great British Sewing Bee, The Great Pottery Throwdown, and celebrity editions of The Weakest Link.
- Natural History and Science: Sir David Attenborough’s A Perfect Planet, Eden: Untamed Planet, Attenborough & the Jurassic Sea Monster, and The Planets with Brian Cox.
- Documentaries: Louis Theroux’s Forbidden America and children’s content like CBBC, CBeebies series
- Live and FAST Channels: Alongside on-demand, you’ll get a live BBC NL feed plus FAST channels such as Top Gear and BBC Drama.
In total, you will be able to stream over 1,000 hours of BBC programming in the first year.
How to access BBC NL+
Access depends on the platform you are using. Here is a breakdown:
- NLZIET users: BBC NL+ is now included at no extra cost. You’ll find it in your VOD menu
- KPN TV+ subscribers: Its integrated app delivers the same catalog and live channels, already launched earlier in 2025
