How to add apps to your Philips Smart TV

If you own a Philips Smart TV –whether it is your first smart TV or you are coming from another brand –you might be finding it difficult to locate, add or update some apps.

While the TV itself comes with a number of preinstalled apps, there are just some essential apps that are not included.

One way of getting new apps on a Philips Smart TV is to update the software. Almost every update comes with additional apps that you can opt to install. However, this isn’t the only method.

Here are three ways that you can use to download and app apps to your Philips Smart TV.

Install from Philips Smart TV App Store or Net TV

To add apps from the Philips Smart TV App Store or Net TV, follow the steps below:

  • Press Home
  • Select Apps and then click Philips Store
  • Search the app you want to add
  • Press Install
  • Select OK

Adding apps to Philips Smart TV from the default Store is free. Unlike four years ago, the Store now has a wide variety of options.

However, if you cannot get a particular app, it is advisable to check it on the Google Play Store, for Android-based TVs.
