Sky Italia and Warner Bros. Discovery renew deal, bringing channels and discovery+ back to viewers

Sky Italia and Warner Bros. Discovery have renewed their partnership in Italy.

If you’ve been using Sky, you will now have more Warner Bros. Discovery content coming back. This includes channels, movies, and the discovery+ app on supported Sky devices.

That means Sky is becoming more of a one-stop place again.

What the new Italy deal includes

The new agreement has four main parts:

  • Ten Warner Bros. Discovery channels returned to Sky from April 30
  • Warner Bros. movies are being added to Sky Cinema and NOW
  • The discovery+ app returns on Sky Q, Sky Stream, and Sky Glass from May 14
  • Some HBO series already covered by an earlier agreement remain part of the wider relationship

So, apart from channels, it also covers on-demand viewing and app access.

Which channels are back on Sky

From April 30, these ten Warner Bros. Discovery channels return to the line-up on Sky Q, My Sky, Sky Stream, and Sky Glass:

  • NOVE
  • Discovery
  • Real Time
  • DMAX
  • Giallo
  • Food Network
  • HGTV
  • Discovery Turbo
  • K2
  • Frisbee

Sky also says that these sit alongside Cartoon Network, Boomerang, and CNN International in the offer. The renewed line-up now covers several different kinds of viewers at once.

What Sky and NOW viewers get on the movie side

The movie part of the deal is the biggest win for you as a viewer. Sky Cinema and NOW will get a wide selection of Warner Bros. films, including recent hits, library titles, and future premieres. Broadband TV News also says the renewed agreement strengthens Sky’s film offer with recent releases, older catalog titles, and future debuts.

  • Inception
  • Troy
  • The Last Samurai
  • Primavera and Idoli
  • One Battle After Another
  • Superman
  • Weapons
  • Wuthering Heights.

Discovery+ is coming back, too

The discovery+ app returns on May 14, but only on Sky Q, Sky Stream, and Sky Glass. Sky did not say My Sky gets the app. So, channels return across all Sky devices, but the app return is more limited.

But this is not automatic free access for every Sky customer. Customers who already subscribe to discovery+, or those who want to subscribe, will be able to open the app directly. This is from the Sky remote and watch discovery+ Originals plus Eurosport sports content.

Does this deal include HBO Max?

Sky’s announcement says the new agreement brings back channels, Warner Bros. movies, and the discovery+ app, while also adding content on top of new seasons of some HBO series already covered by an earlier deal.

So HBO Max is not part of the deal.

On January 13, 2026, HBO Max officially launched direct-to-consumer in Italy. The platform became available in Italy as its own service.
