European Rugby Sevens is now free to watch on Eurovision Sport

If you follow European rugby sevens, you now have a free place to watch it. Eurovision Sport has started streaming Rugby Europe sevens events live, beginning with Leg 1 in Hamburg which ends on July 5, 2026.

More events are already lined up, including the Rugby Europe U18 7s Championship in Říčany on July 11 and 12 and Leg 2 in Split on July 24 to July 26.

How to watch Eurovision Sport

You can catch all the action on the web at Eurovision Sport. You could also use the mobile app which also works on supported connected TV apps. The channel can be accessed on select FAST channels, too.

There is also a FAST layer in the UK. Eurovision Sport has expanded onto Free Live Sports, Plex, Amazon Live, and Samsung TV Plus there, with more expansion being explored beyond the UK.

Free does not mean no sign-up

As we mentioned earlier, this is free and you do not pay. However, you do have to sign up.

When you first open a stream, you will be able to only watch a short 5-minute ad-free preview. After that, you need to log in with your details or create a free account.

Hence, the stream itself is free, but the full session sits behind a free account wall. If you want the smoothest start before kickoff, it is better to create the account before the match window begins.

The country rule you should know about

Worldwide access does not always mean every stream is open in every country. Some live events are geo-blocked in places where another rights-holder already has the coverage.

In some cases, you will be redirected to a local player. In other cases, the event may not appear at all in your region if the competition has been fully licensed elsewhere.

That is the one catch in this launch. If you open a rugby sevens event and do not see a live schedule, it may not be a technical problem. It may be a rights issue in your country.

Replays and highlights are part of the offer

If you miss a live session, you will get another chance. Full replays and highlights are posted after the live stream ends.

This content is often available even when live rights are limited. Replays go up as soon as the live stream ends. Highlights follow after a short delay.

You can already see that pattern with Hamburg. Day 1 full sessions were posted on July 3. A 32-minute Day 1 highlights package was also added.
