Philo announced that Bundle+ subscribers can now upgrade to the HBO Max Standard plan for an extra $13 per month.
This update is part of Philo’s effort to give customers more premium content without leaving the app. It’s especially helpful for viewers who are tired of ads during their favorite HBO shows.

What the HBO Max Standard plan upgrade gives you
Bundle+ costs $33 per month and includes over 70 live channels, AMC+ content, ad-supported HBO Max and discovery+, plus free channels. With the new HBO Max Standard upgrade, you can watch HBO Max without ads.
If you upgrade, you get ad-free access to hit series like Euphoria, The Last of Us, and House of the Dragon, plus blockbuster movies and content from Warner Bros., A24, and Studio Ghibli. You can watch all of this in the Philo app or the HBO Max app.
You also get 30 downloads for offline viewing and live sports like MLB, NHL, NASCAR, and College Football. Multiview is available for some events, giving families and sports fans more flexibility without needing extra apps or logins.
With this upgrade, you won’t have commercial breaks while watching. Parents can enjoy quiet evenings with premium dramas, and sports fans get better viewing tools.
Staying in one app can make things easier if you manage several streaming services.
Pricing and how it works

Bundle+ with the HBO Max Standard upgrade costs $46 per month if you pay Philo directly. Prices might be a bit different if you use a third-party billing service.
Current Bundle+ users keep all their features, including ad-supported HBO Max. The upgrade is optional, so you can stay with the base plan if you want to save money, or upgrade for premium access.
To add the plan, just go to your Philo account page and choose the upgrade option. Activation is fast, and you can start watching right away.
HBO Max Standard on its own usually costs about $18.49 per month. Bundling with Philo can make things easier and might save you money, but it’s a good idea to compare total costs based on how you watch.
This integration is great for households that share accounts or watch on several devices at home. The extra fee also helps keep the base Bundle+ plan affordable for those who don’t mind ads or mostly watch live TV.
Philo has continued to add value to its plans through 2026, with more free channels and bigger content libraries. Adding HBO Max Standard builds on earlier updates like ad-supported HBO Max and Discovery+ in the Bundle+ tier.
