Popular TV shows cancelled or ending in September 2024

Happy September! The year is almost ending, and so are some of your favourite shows. 

Here is a list of TV shows bidding us goodbye this September.

My Brilliant Friend (HBO)

This series is based on the Neopolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante.  Saverio Costanzo then created the show for HBO, where the series My Brilliant Friend can be streamed.

The show follows the complex friendship between Elena (Lenù) Greco and Raffaella (Lila) Cerullo in post-World War II Naples.

Beginning in the 1950s in Naples, we are taken through a journey of evolution as the girls grow into themselves.

The series explores themes of friendship, identity, class struggles, and personal growth as the two women navigate the challenges of their environment and their ambitions.

Season 4 is the show’s final season and will premiere on September 9th on HBO. The season will have ten episodes and wrap up the story of Lenù and Lila, providing closure to fans who have followed their journey from childhood to adulthood.

All American: Homecoming (The CW Network)

How can one navigate being a student-athlete, personal growth, romance, and college life?

If you want answers, then follow the lives of Simone Hicks and Damon Sims as they navigate college while being star athletes.

All American: Homecoming is a sports drama television series that premiered on The CW. It is a spinoff of the popular All American series, which is also on The CW.

Fans of the show can also catch up on the series’ episodes on Netflix. The first season of All American: Homecoming was added to Netflix on July 12, 2022, in the United States, and the second season was available to stream on April 11, 2023.

The show’s final episodes will begin airing on September 2nd on The CW. 

Power Book Ⅱ: Ghost (Starz)

This series picks up after James “Ghost” St. Patrick’s death and focuses on his son Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), who sets out to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Tariq involves himself in the drug underworld to support his family’s financial needs and to raise money for his mother’s lawyers. His mother, Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton), is accused of killing “Ghost” (Omari Hardwick).

We see him get caught up with the Tejada family as he strives to balance his dual life as a student and a drug dealer.

 Season 4 of Power Book Ⅱ: Ghost will end with the final episode airing on September 6. The teasers of the final episode are on the Starz website
