Law and the City is an upcoming K-drama set to premiere on July 5, 2025, on tvN (in South Korea) and Disney+ (internationally).
The TV show explores the daily struggles and personal and professional lives of a group of lawyers working in the bustling legal district of Seoul.

It features an ensemble cast that includes popular K-drama stars such as Moon Ga-young, Lee Jong-suk, Ryu Hye-young, Kang You-seok, Im Seong-jae, Yeom Hye-ran, and Park Hye-soo.
Below is a detailed look at the acting profiles of these cast members, including the roles they will portray in the K-drama and other notable acting roles.
1. Lee Jong-Suk

Lee Jong-Suk portrays Ahn Joo-Hyeong in Law and the City, a veteran lawyer who exhibits a high level of fact-driven, logic-oriented personality.
Joo-Hyeong, who has worked at the same law firm for nine years, became a lawyer because of his love for logic and solving cases. As such, he is unfamiliar with the concept of using the law to protect the weak and vulnerable and offer them justice.
Lee Jong-Suk began his career in the entertainment industry as a runway model and is famous for being the youngest male model to appear in Seoul Fashion Week.
He also enjoyed some roles in his early years in films and dramas, such as Sympathy, Ghost, Prosecutor Princess, and Secret Garden.
However, his breakout role came in 2012, when he was cast in the K-drama School 2013. Since then, he has appeared in several films and dramas, including I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, Doctor Stranger, W, While You Were Sleeping, V.I.P., Romance Is a Black, and Big Mouth.
In his personal life, Jong Suk is in a relationship with K-pop star IU (Lee Ji-eun), whom he has been dating since 2022.
2. Moon Ga-young

Moon Ga-young is a South Korean actress and model who portrays Kang Hee-Ji in the Korean law drama Law and the City.
Unlike Joo-Hyung, Hee-Ji is a passionate, people-centred lawyer who desires to make a difference in her clients’ lives.
Moon Ga-young started her career as a child model in 2005. She then made her acting debut in the 2006 film Bloody Reunion.
Since then, Ga-young has appeared in several roles, mostly in K-dramas, including Heartstrings, Exo Next Door, Tempted, Welcome to Waikiki 2, True Beauty, Find Me in Your Memory, The Interest of Love, and My Dearest Nemesis.
She has also had a few roles in films, including Killer Toon, Twenty Again, Salut d’Amour, and Eclipse. Besides acting, Ga-young has appeared in several reality TV shows, music videos, and has even published a book.
3. Kang Yuo-seok

Kang Yuo-seok is a Korean actor who portrays Jo Chang-won in Law and the City.
Chang-won is a passionate and introverted individual who is always enthusiastic, both at work and at social gatherings. However, he works for a business-minded boss who takes any case that can bring in money.
Yuo-seok made his debut in the K-drama scene through the 2018 TV show Quiz of God.
Since then, he has appeared in several K-dramas, including The Hymn of Death, Melting Me Softly, Doctor Romantic, Once Again, Beyond Evil, Light on Me, Payback: Money and Power, Black Knight, When Life Gives You Tangerines, and Resident Playbook.

4. Ryu Hye-young

Ryu Hye-young is another top Korean star in the K-drama Law and the City. She plays the role of Bae Moon-jung, an eight-year veteran lawyer.
Bae-jung is portrayed as the leader of the lawyer group, who is often kind to others but also stern, with a very fierce and competitive streak.
Hye-young began acting in 2007, initially appearing in short films like High School Girls, My Old Lady, Love, 100°C, Graduation Trip, and Heart Vibrator.
Her breakout role came in 2015 when she starred in the K-drama Reply 1988. Since then, she has appeared in several films and TV shows like Spy, Heart to Heart, Fatal Intuition, Love, Lies, The Mayor, and Law School.
In terms of her personal life, Hye-young has not revealed much. However, she has an older sister (Ryu Sun-young) who is also an actress famous for appearing in Our Love Story, A Taxi Driver, Run On, and My Mister.
5. Im Sung-Jae

Im Sung-Jae portrays Hang Sang-ki in the Law and the City K-drama.
Sang-ki is a kind and friendly lawyer who, in addition to his legal career, is passionate about food blogging and runs a blog where he often documents the meals he shares with other lawyers.
Im Sung-Jae is relatively new to the acting scene, with his first credit being in the 2020 K-drama Hush. He also made brief appearances in dramas and films, including Vincenzo, Here’s My Plan, Emergency Declaration, Bad and Crazy, Eonpeureimdeu, and The Anchor, early in his career.
His big break came in 2022 when he was cast in a supporting role in the K-drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
Since then, he has appeared in several dramas and films, including D.P., Moving, Target, The Worst of Evil, Secret: Untold Melody, Hellbound, Gangnam B-Side, When the Stars Gossip, Nocturnal, and Newtopia.
6. Yeom Hye-ran

Yeom Hye-ran portrays the character of Kim Hyung-Min, the owner of the Hyungmin building, where the lawyers’ offices are located.
Hyung-min is a successful businesswoman (with a business building named after her) and a scholarship foundation. However, she is very reclusive, such that most law firm managing partners in her building have never met her.
Yeom Hye-ran is a multiple award-winning actress who started her career in the theatre. She then made her screen debut in the 2003 film Memories of Murder.
Since then, Hye-ran has appeared in dozens of films and K-dramas, such as Love Cells, The Magician, The K2, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, Prison Playbook, Default, When the Camellia Blooms, Chocolate, Mystic Pop-up Bar, and The Uncanny Counter.
In terms of her personal life, Hye-ran is married (to a non-celebrity husband), and they have a daughter together.
7. Park Hyoung-soo

Park Hyoung-soo plays the role of Na Kyeong-min in Law and the City, the managing partner of Ahn Joo-Hyeong and Bae Moon-jung’s law firm. He is portrayed as a competent lawyer, but has zero passion for his work and is indifferent to his associates.
Hyoung-soo started his acting career in the theatre before making his screen debut in the 2012 film Perfect Number. Following that, he appeared in several movies, such as Way Back Home, Tabloid Truth, Bargain, and Seoul Searching.
His big break (and K-drama debut) was through the 2017 K-drama Prison Playbook.
Since then, he has appeared in several films and dramas, including The Negotiation, After the Rain, Arthdal Chronicles, Crash Landing on You, The Devil Judge, Happiness, The King Maker, The Point Men, Ballerina, The Tyrant, and The Art of Negotiation.
Besides acting, Hyoung-soo has appeared in a music video, Lee Seung-hwan’s “The Signal of One Billion Light-Years.” He also has several credits for musical stage works.
As for his personal life, he is married to a non-celebrity wife, with whom he tied the knot in 2019 at a private ceremony in Seoul.
