Woniya Dawn Thibeault lives in Grass Valley, California, where she teaches survival skills through her company, Buckskin Revolution. She was on the 6th season of Alone and on Alone: Frozen on the History Channel.
Woniya describes her experience as transformative and remembers it with nostalgia. Woniya Thibeault won $500,000 on Alone: Frozen and was the runner-up in the 6th season.

So, where is Woniya Dawn Thibeault, the winner of Alone: Frozen, today?
The beginning
Woniya Thibeault was born in 1976 in California and developed a love for hiking growing up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. She spent her childhood outdoors, often with friends and sometimes on her own.
It prepared her for the survival challenges on the History Channel show Alone. She learned ancestral survival skills and ideas, combining them with her love for gathering and crafting, which made her an excellent survivalist.
Woniya Thibeault attended River Bear High School and then went on to attend UC Santa Cruz.
Her time on Alone
Woniya Thibeault’s passion for the outdoors and survival led her to apply to join the cast of Season 6 in 2019. She spent 73 days surviving and finally tapped out due to starvation.
Surviving on your wits with no modern conveniences is a great achievement, and Woniya Thibeault testifies that it taught her to pay attention to her body.

In 2022, she joined the cast again for Alone: Frozen. In this season, former competitors tried to outlast each other alone in Labrador County, Canada. Woniya Thibeault outlasted the rest and won the cash prize on the show for surviving a full 50 days out in the cold.
Speaking about the experience, she says that she found it challenging as her past experiences on the show had traumatised her.
Similarly, Woniya Thibeault also missed her partner during the 50 days they were apart, which made the experience even more challenging.
That said, she still considers the time she spent on both seasons of Alone memorable and a great experience.

Today, Woniya Thibeault lives in Grass Valley, California, with her partner and their son. She got pregnant at 47 and considers it a blessing as, by that time, she had given up on motherhood.

The proud mother and survivalist spends her days teaching survival skills through her business, Buckskin Revolution. Woniya Thibeault is also writing a book on making buckskin clothes.
Furthermore, she recently published a book about her experience on Alone, titled Never Alone: A Solo Arctic Survival Journey. The book is available on Amazon in both physical and Kindle editions.
