Dr. Michele Sherkey appeared in about 11 episodes of The Incredible Dr. Pol, which aired between 2011 and 2019.
Although the number of episodes is relatively short compared to the 290 episodes the show has been on the air, it was enough to earn Dr. Michele a fair share of loyal followers—so much so that her absence has been a topic of discussion for many years.
So, what really happened to Dr. Michele Sharkey?
Sadly, Dr. Sharkey passed away in a road accident along with her twin sister, Grace. According to a postmortem, their bodies were subjected to extreme temperatures, leading to heat stroke. Dr. Sharkey was only 34 at the time of her passing.
NOTE: Dr. Sharkey had left The Incredible Dr. Pol show to focus on her life. During this transition, she decided to complete her studies. Michele served as a veterinarian in Missouri up until her death.
Dr. Sharkey’s legacy and love of nature-related activities
Since birth, Michele has loved animals, a passion that has complimented her career as a veterinarian. She loved hiking in the hills to look for her favorite moose.
While at DewWitt and Aquinas High School, she was known for her unwavering interest in caring for pets.
She was into athletics, and in 2007, she became a member of the golf club at DewWitt High School. While growing up, she developed new passions such as sketching, ghost hunting, painting, and art.
She loved watching collections such as The Wizard of Oz. Michele was a member of the Beyhive group and a devoted fan of Beyonce.
Michele Sharkey left Dr.Pol and seemingly enjoyed the transition
Just as Michele had gained popularity among The Incredible Dr. Pol’s audience, she decided to leave. The decision left many of her fans in awe.
However, it was later discovered that she was in a relationship with Dr. Emily`s brother, Thomas. So, when Thomas relocated to Missouri, Michele decided to leave the show and join Thomas.
Although her decision surprised many, it was evident that Sharkey was committed to her personal life and marriage. Despite the sudden transition, she continued her career as a veterinarian, even finding time to complete her studies, and eventually joined the Jones Animal Health Clinic.
Sharkey often shared photos on Instagram giving us a glimpse of her outgoing personality.
Sharkey’s love for animals, even off the TV screen
Dr. Michele’s love for animals was seen in her tender treatment of her pets. She cared for her lovely pets Cow, Cardi, and Arya.
Even after losing the eldest kitty, Roxy, Michele did not change her devotion and passion for animals.
