She attended the University of Queensland for her Commerce degree but wanted to be a journalist. The state-owned China Global Television Network hired her as a news anchor in 2002. 

After that, she worked as the China Correspondent for CNBC. Cheng Lei was arrested in 2021 on trumped-up charges and was released in 2023 and returned to Australia.  

2. Danica Di Giorgio

Danica Di Giorgio is a presenter for Danica and James on Sky News Australia. She attended Curtin University for her journalism degree.

Before her work as a presenter, she was a reporter and was involved in Sky News coverage of the 2023 Coronation in London.

She also reported on the 2022 Northern Rivers Flood Disaster, the Black Summer Bushfires, and the search for the remains of William Tyrell. 

Danica is determined and has worked on important stories that have greatly impacted Australia. Her fearless reporting has brought to light corruption in government.  

3. Gabriella  Power

Gabriella Power is the Digital Presenter for Sky News Australia. She started working at the channel in 2017 and covered the Tokyo Olympic Games and the Australian federal election. 

Gabriella is focused and determined and takes that into her work, making her successful. After working for several years as a reporter, she was promoted to Digital Presenter in 2023. 

4. Ashleigh Gillon

Ashleigh Gillon is a presenter for Sky News Australia. She started working at Sky News in 2004 as a producer. 

At the channel Ashleigh went on to work on The Lunchtime Agenda and also as an anchor for the afternoon news. During the 2014 Lindt cafe siege, she anchored the news. 

She started working as a presenter on Weekend Live with Ashleigh Gillon in the same year. Ashleigh has won an ASTRA Award and the Wallace Brown Award.

5. Laura Jayes

Laura Jayes is a presenter for the Sky News Breakfast in Australia. She started working at Sky News as a reporter in 2006. 

Ms. Jayes has worked on shows like The Lunchtime Agenda and The Latest with Laura Jayes. She is a determined journalist who is one of the few members of the Australian media to have a visa to Nauru. 

Nauru restricts media personality entry into the country. Laura was nominated for an ASTRA Award in 2014. 

6. Jaynie Seal

Jaynie Seal is a weather and news presenter on Sky News. She started her journalism career at the Weather Channel in 1999, then moved on to Nine Network. 

At Nine Network Jaynie was involved in shows like Nine Afternoon News and Nine Morning News. She joined Sky News in 2012 to do the weather and became part of the news team in 2018. 

7. Sharri Markson
