How to activate Curiosity Stream on Roku, Fire TV, Android, Apple TV

When you activate Curiosity Stream, you are opening your world to a whole library of documentaries and other educational content.

Curiosity Stream airs original shows such as Ancient Earth, Curious Mind, and Big Picture Earth, which is broadcast in 4K. You’ll also get content from producers like BBC, ZED, and TerraNova.

How to activate Curiosity Stream

1. Roku

What you should know: Apart from Roku 1, all the other Roku devices support Curiosity Stream. Therefore, you may be unable to install or stream Curiosity content using Roku 1.

To activate Curiosity Stream on Roku:

Go to curiositystream.com on any browser and sign up for an account.
Power on Roku and make sure it is connected to the internet.
Launch the Channel Store and search for Curiosity Stream.
Click Add Channel. Wait for it to install.
Launch Curiosity Stream on Roku and log in with the credentials you used in step 1.
Copy the activation code that shows on your TV screen.
Visit curiositystream.tv/activate from your phone or computer browser. Make sure it is logged into your account.
Enter the activation code you copied earlier.

When the process is complete, you should see a pop-up window that says Channel added. You are now ready to start streaming.

2. Apple TV

What you should know: Curiosity Stream app only works with 4^th generation and later versions of Apple TV. If you have an older version, you can still access it via AirPlay.

To activate Curiosity Stream on Apple TV:

Create an account at curiositystream.com from any browser.
Launch the App Store on Apple TV.
Search for Curiosity Stream and install the app.
Log in using your credentials. You’ll see an activation code on your TV screen.
Go back to the browser you used in step one and navigate to curiositystream.tv/activate.
Enter the activation code as it appears on your TV.

You are now ready to watch hours of interesting shows and documentaries.

3. Android TV

What you should know: Curiosity Stream works on Android TV 5.0 and above. If you are using previous versions, consider updating your TV to the latest version. You can also use devices such as Roku or Fire TV.

Follow these steps to activate Curiosity Stream on Apple TV:

Launch the app store on your Android TV.
Search for the Curiosity Stream app and install it.
Log in using your Curiosity Stream credentials. You can sign up for an account here if you don’t have one.
Copy the activation code that appears on your screen.
Go to curiositystream.tv/activate on any browser, log in if necessary, and enter the activation code exactly as it appears.

You’ll have to wait for a few seconds for the activation process to complete. Once done, you’ll now be ready to stream Curiosity on your Android TV.

4. Xbox

Like all other devices, make sure you have a Curiosity Stream account. You can sign up for one from Curiosity’s website. Afterward, follow these steps:

First, go to the Home Screen on your Xbox
Launch the app store and search for Curiosity Stream.
Select Install to add the app to your app library.
Launch the newly installed Curiosity Stream app on your Xbox.
Note the activation code that appears.
Log in to any other browser using your Curiosity Stream credentials.
Enter the activation code you copied before.

5. Chromecast

To watch Curiosity Stream using Chromecast:

Open a new tab on your Chrome browser for Android, PC, Mac, or iOS.
Go to curiositystream.com and log in using your credentials. You’ll be prompted to create an account if you don’t have one.
Connect Chromecast to your TV.
Go back to your Google Chrome browser, browse through Curiosity Stream’s library and select what you intend to watch.
Click the three dots at the far right of your Chrome browser, then select Cast. The Chromecast icon should appear on the toolbar.
Click on it, let it search for available devices, and then select your TV from the list.

You should now see the video you selected on your browser playing on your TV. With Chromecast, you can adjust the volume, rewind, or fast-forward a show using your remote controller.

6. Amazon Fire TV

If you own a Fire TV, activate Curiosity Stream through these steps:

Launch Fire TV, go to the app store, and search for the Curiosity App.
Install the app and then launch it.
Log in using your credentials. If you don’t have an account, sign up from another browser, such as your phone or computer.
Log into the app you just downloaded on Fire TV using these credentials. You should see an activation code.
Go to curiositystream.tv/activate on your browser, then enter the activation code.

Curiosity Stream is included with Amazon Prime if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber. It comes as a channel on Amazon Prime Video that you can add to your channel library.

However, it is not free. Instead, you will get a 7-day free trial, after which you will have to pay to use the channel.

7. PlayStation

Follow these steps to activate Curiosity Stream on your PlayStation:

Go to the PlayStation Store on your PS console.
Go to the TV & Videos category using your controller.
Click on the Search section and search for Curiosity Stream.
Install the Curiosity Stream app and open it.
Note down the activation code.
Go to another browser and navigate to curiositystream.tv/activate. Log in when prompted
