Red Bull TV not working on your smart TV: Troubleshooting tips

The Red Bull TV app, which is available across multiple devices, is a great option for watching a variety of sports content, especially if you are a fan of extreme sports.

However, from time to time, you may encounter issues with your app, which can sour your viewing experience.

There are several reasons why Red Bull TV may not be working, including issues with the app, problems with your smart TV, or server-side outages. However, most of these problems are easy to troubleshoot and fix.

Below is a detailed troubleshooting guide for what you can do when you find Red Bull TV not working on your smart TV.

Basic troubleshooting tips

You can try the following simple troubleshooting tips if you find that Red Bull TV is not working on your Smart TV:

  • Ensure you have a fast and stable internet connection: A reliable internet connection is essential for streaming on the Red Bull TV app.
  • Check your Smart TV’s network settings: If you’re experiencing an internet connection issue, the problem may be with your TV’s network settings. Try reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network. If that fails, you can reset your device’s network settings.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router: Restarting your router can help resolve issues such as buffering caused by low speeds and an unstable internet connection.
  • Relaunch your Red Bull TV session: If the Red Bull TV app is not working, try going back to your TV’s home screen and relaunching the app.
  • Restart your Smart TV: Restarting your TV can help clear temporary glitches that may be affecting the Red Bull TV app.

If none of the above tips work, try the following advanced solutions to fix your Red Bull TV app:

1. Confirm that Red Bull TV is up and running

A service outage is one of the top reasons why Red Bull TV may not be working on your Smart TV. Therefore, before trying anything else, you should confirm that the service is up and running.

You can confirm whether Red Bull TV is up and running by checking out the service’s website. You can also check for reported outages on Red Bull TV’s official social media sites or various forums like Reddit.

Lastly, you can use sites like UpdownRadar to check whether Red Bull TV is up and running.

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do if you find that Red Bull TV is down. The only solution in this case is to wait out the issue.

2. Update the Red Bull TV app

If you find that Red Bull TV is not working on your Smart TV, it may be because the app is out of date.

In most cases, apps on your Smart TV will update automatically. However, from time to time, one of the apps can fail to update, which can lead to issues.

To resolve the problem:

  • Go to your Smart TV’s app store (for example, Samsung Smart Hub for Samsung TVs, LG Content Store for LG TVs, or Google Play Store for other TVs).
  • Search for Red Bull TV in the app store and check if the app has any available updates.
  • Install the updates (if available), then return to the home screen and launch the app to check if the issue has been resolved.

3. Clear the app’s cache

Over time, the Red Bull TV cache can become corrupted or overloaded, resulting in app glitches or disruptions to its streaming functionality.

Clearing the app’s cache removes the corrupted cached data, which can help clear minor glitches and other issues within the app. It can also free up storage space on your Smart TV, improving the app’s performance.

To clear Red Bull TV’s cache:

  • Go to the settings menu on your Smart TV.
  • Navigate to the application manager or the app list and select Red Bull TV from the list of installed apps.
  • Look for an option like “Storage Manager,” “Clear Storage,” “Clear Data,” or “Clear Cache”, and clear the app’s cache.
  • You can also clear the app’s data to free up additional storage space and remove corrupted data; however, this will delete all saved data, including login information.
  • Once you are done, head back to your Smart TV’s home screen and launch the Red Bull TV to see if the issue you were experiencing has been resolved.

NOTE: The pathway for clearing cache and data might vary depending on your TV model. For example:

  • On Samsung TV: Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Manage Storage. Then, select Red Bull TV from the list of apps, go to “View Details“, and choose “Clear Cache/Clear Data.”
  • On LG TV: Navigate to Settings > Application Manager> App info and select the Red Bull TV app. Then, go to “Storage” and select “Clear Cache/Clear Data.”
  • For Google/Android TV models: Navigate to Settings > Apps > See All Apps and select Red Bull TV, then choose “Clear Cache/Clear Data.”

4. Remove and reinstall the Red Bull TV app

If you are still having issues with Red Bull TV, the app itself could be the problem. Therefore, the best thing you can do is delete it from your TV and reinstall a fresh version.

To do this:

  • Go to the Settings menu on your Smart TV and navigate to App Manager, Apps, or App List.
  • Select Red Bull TV from the list of installed apps and look for an option to uninstall or delete the app.
  • After removing the app, go to your Smart TV’s app store, search for Red Bull TV, and download and install a fresh version of the app.
  • Launch the app to see if the problem has been fixed.

5. Power cycle your TV

Your Smart TV could also be to blame for Red Bull TV not working. For example, your device may have software glitches or bugs that affect the app’s performance.

One of the best ways to resolve issues affecting your TV is to perform a power cycle. This process can reset your TV’s software and hardware, clearing temporary glitches that may be causing various problems with the Red Bull TV app.

To power cycle your TV:

  • Turn off your TV.
  • Unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet or the extension cord.
  • Wait for about 30-60 seconds, then plug in the TV and turn it on.
  • Go to the home screen and launch the Red Bull TV app to see if the issue has been resolved.

6. Update your TV’s firmware and software

Outdated TV firmware or software can lead to compatibility or performance issues with your Red Bull TV app.

Therefore, updating your Smart TV’s firmware or software is another excellent solution to try if Red Bull TV is not working.

  • Ensure that your TV is connected to the Internet.
  • Navigate to the settings menu on your TV
  • Go to Support > Software update.
  • Select “Check for Updates” and install any pending updates.
  • You can also enable the “Auto Update” feature to ensure your TV software updates automatically in the future.

7. Reset the smart hub (for Smart TVs)

Some Smart TVs, such as Samsung TVs and LG TVs, feature a smart hub that allows you to access all your apps, including Red Bull TV. If you continue to experience issues with the app, resetting the Smart Hub can help resolve them.

To reset the smart hub:

  • Navigate to the settings menu on your TV and go to Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis.
  • Select “Reset Smart Hub” and enter your TV’s PIN when prompted (the default PIN for most TV models is 0000).
  • Confirm the decision to reset to complete the process.
  • After resetting, return to your TV’s home screen and set up the smart hub again.
  • Install the Red Bull TV app and launch it to see if the problem has been resolved.

NOTE: Resetting the smart hub will restore it to the default settings, which will remove all the installed apps and any other saved settings, including login details. Therefore, before performing a reset, ensure that you have saved all the necessary information.

The above solutions will fix most of the problems you might be experiencing with the Red Bull TV app. However, if none of these options work, you should contact Red Bull TV customer support for further troubleshooting of the issue.
