United States President Donald Trump’s transportation secretary Sean Duffy has unveiled a new reality show alongside his family.
Duffy first appeared on television when he was cast on The Real World: Boston on MTV in 1997. He then appeared on other shows like Road Rules: All Stars, where he met his wife, Rachel Campos–Duffy.

The cabinet member revealed that the new show, The Great American Road Trip, was filmed in the last seven months to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
The five-episode reality show is set to air on YouTube in June 2026
“Over the course of seven months, we just kind of found these moments where I might be able to do some work, and I could take the kids with me. Do a road trip, and our motto is ‘To love America is to see America,’ and there’s so much to see in this beautiful country. We did that with our family, he revealed.
Further, he disclosed that he and his wife, Rachel Campos-Duffy, were inspired to film the project after Trump encouraged all cabinet members to engage in something to celebrate the country’s quincentennial.
“The president kicked us off, as you’re seeing right now. We went to the Oval with the kids, by the way. Who gets to do that? The kids were wildly excited, and he was so generous with his time that the president was,” he said.
The filming of The Great American Road Trip
Duffy revealed that they filmed the show for a period of two days, and the programme planned visits to snowmobiling in Montana, the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Rocky Steps, and The Real World: Boston, where Duffy became famous.
They began the journey by welcoming an address from Trump at the White House.
What does Pete Buttigieg say about The Great American Road Trip?

The reality show’s premiere has drawn criticism as travel is becoming inaccessible for many Americans due to the rising fuel prices.
Speaking on social media on May 8, 2026, former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg called it brutally out of touch.
“I love a good road trip, but this is brutally out of touch: a Trump Cabinet member making a documentary about himself while regular families can’t afford road trips anymore, because Trump and his war put gas prices through the roof.”
However, Duffy came to his defence, saying the Great American Road Trip Inc. sponsored the show, and no taxpayers’ funds were spent on his family, nor did they receive royalties or salaries from the production.
“The radical, miserable left has noticed our awesome Great American Road Trip trailer, and they hate it. They’re upset because they don’t want you to celebrate America! And they definitely don’t want you to teach your kids civics & patriotism. So they tell lies to undermine the mission,” he stated.
