Will Aiello, fondly known as Weather Will to Kitchener-Waterloo viewers, was a beloved meteorologist and reporter on CTV News Kitchener for several years.
Famous for his warm delivery of local forecasts, community stories, and humorous segments, Will became a fixture on the 6 p.m. news and morning shows.

Will Aiello’s CTV Kitchener Tenure
Will joined CTV Kitchener after stints at CTV Northern Ontario (Sudbury), where he announced his move on LinkedIn in February 2022, excited about field reporting and weather in the K-W region.
“On air last night, I announced that my last day with CTV Northern Ontario would be coming later this month,” he announced.
“It’s a bittersweet moment as the last couple of years here have been the most rewarding, loving, and enlightening time of my life, but I am thrilled to say I am staying in the Bell Media Family and have made the decision to go en route to the amazing team at CTV Kitchener.”
At CTV, he covered everything from blizzards to festivals, earning praise for his approachable style. Viewers loved his banter with anchors and holiday specials.
Will Aiello’s Absence
Will’s disappearance from the airwaves began around December 2024.
This was after speculations about his health, with pre-taped segments airing briefly afterward.
By early 2025, Will was unaccounted for per fan posts.
However, CTV responded by assuring viewers that he would return within a year.
Additionally, pre-recorded Christmas adverts kept his face on air, easing concerns about his whereabouts amid Bell Media layoffs.
Will Aiello’s Promotion to CTV Ottawa

May 29, 2025, marked Will’s triumphant return, not to Kitchener, but CTV Morning Live Ottawa as co-anchor.
In the announcement, Peter Angione, Bell Media Ottawa Director of News and Information Programming, expressed excitement about Will joining the team.
“Will is the perfect person to join Rosey and Melissa on CTV Morning Live. We look forward to having this talented trio bring the nation’s capital the sunniest, most positive wake-up they need to start their day,” he announced.
“We can’t wait for viewers to get to know Will. He is the kind of person you want to be friends with and brings tons of positive energy viewers will be waking up to every day,” he added.
On his part, Will expressed excitement about rejoining the team on his 10-year anniversary at the media company.
“I’ve loved waking up to CTV Morning Live for many years and cannot wait to join this incredible team, make connections with loyal viewers, and deliver on telling the local stories that matter most,” he said.
“I began my career behind the scenes in Ottawa, and coming back to be a part of the show on my 10-year anniversary with Bell Media makes it truly special,” Aiello stated on his appointment.
