The Hulu drama Tell Me Lies has reached its natural end with its third season, after showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer confirmed that Season 4 is not coming.
The announcement came just before the finale of the show’s season 3, which aired on February 17, 2026, leaving viewers to reflect on its twisted narrative.
The series, adapted from Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel and premiering in 2020, explored a tumultuous relationship across the 2008 college years and the 2015 aftermath.
It followed the college years of two students, Stephene DeMarco (Jackson White) and Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten), as their romance unfolded over several years marked by betrayal, emotional turmoil, and manipulation.
By season 3, Tell Me Lies storylines, such as Bree’s revenge, the leaked sex tape, and Stephen’s Yale downfall, primarily set at the fictional Baird College, converged in satisfying ways.

In an Instagram post on February 17, 2026, Oppenheimer stated that the decision to end the show was intentional, not a cancellation.
“After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending that my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it,” she stated.
Further, she revealed that the team explored continuing the series but later felt the narrative had already reached its natural conclusion.
“Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately, we felt it had reached its natural conclusion. My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you.”
“And so, while it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending – a privilege very few shows get. Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future.”
