A new dating show set in the two most vibrant hubs, Boston and the historic city of Lowell, is set to start filming soon. The TV show is set to hunt for outgoing locals ready to take a chance on love in front of the cameras.
A fun and fresh twist on modern dating
According to the casting call, the new Boston-Lowell series, whose filming is taking place on December 7, 2025, in Lowell, starting at noon on a rented sound stage, aims to capture the authentic spirit of the local community inviting singles who are energetic, adventurous, and ready to meet new people in an exciting televised format.

“Participants will take part in formats that include balloon popping selections, friend-chosen matchups, and unique five-versus-one challenges. Each episode blends personality tests, first impressions, and high-energy group dynamics,” reads the casting call in part.
“Seeking confident, outgoing people who are ready to be on camera and have fun while competing. All roles are non-scripted and filmed in a fast-paced, entertaining environment.”
Location of the show for the social experiment
According to the show description, each participant in the series will be needed for filming for up to three hours as the production team rotates through multiple segments throughout the afternoon.
“ All production will be handled on site with Sony cinema line, cameras, and a full setup, and participants will receive credit and access to raw files,” further reads the casting call.
This makes the show ideal for creatives, young professionals or anyone who wants to try something new without turning their life upside down.
Boston’s rise in local dating shows
The show focuses on the unique social vibe of the Boston-Lowell corridor, which has seen rising interest in alternative, locally filmed dating content.

Shows including Local Love Boston, where a local single goes on three blind dates, doing curated activities in their city while looking for love, and the daters also develop a love for new things to do in Boston.
This has demonstrated unique dating experiences across the city, from mixology sessions to cooking classes to archery and distillery tours.
The new show follows the same rhythm, with potential contestants looking forward to a dynamic mix of speed-dating and social events, filmed at popular local venues that reflect the authentic places where people usually meet and mingle daily.
The new series aims to add drama, humour, and heartfelt moments that resonate with both participants and viewers by bringing the thrill of these social activities to the screen.
What producers of the social experiment are looking for
The new TV show encourages singles over 18 who are interested in applying to the social experiment to demonstrate their outgoing and sociable nature.
The casting call is an invitation to locals to step into the spotlight and see if their next date could also be their big moment on television.
“This is an unpaid project and created for fun, experience, and on-camera exposure. Only apply if you are comfortable participating without compensation and are available for up to three hours during the day,” the casting call revealed.
