ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! faced a dramatic interruption in the 2025 season when contestants were urgently evacuated from their jungle camp in New South Wales, Australia, on November 24, 2025.
The evacuation came due to a severe storm packing giant hail, heavy rain, and destructive winds.

Production halted as health and safety protocols were activated, relocating the stars to the Bush Telegraph for over an hour until conditions improved, marking what began as a routine challenge day.
What happened?
A volatile thunderstorm swept through the filming location in Dungay, New South Wales, prompting immediate action from show bosses on Monday afternoon local time, November 24, 2025.
This came after the Bureau of Meteorology issued warnings for south-east Queensland and north-east New South Wales.
“Thunderstorms are likely across much of Australia this week. Severe thunderstorms are likely across SE Queensland & North East New South Wales today. Large hail, damaging winds & heavy rainfall are a risk,” The Bureau of Meteorology forecasted.
Torrential downpours dumped up to 50cm of rain in two hours, soaking the camp and delaying filming by up to three hours.
According to insiders, celebrities, including TV personalities, athletes, a mix of actors, and internet influencers, were initially instructed to pause the challenge.
However, lightning struck near the set, and the decision was made to trigger a full evacuation from their main camp to the safety of the Bush Telegraph, a familiar on-show refuge used for confessions and chats.

Speaking to the SUN, an insider revealed that, in the aftermath, belongings were left drenched, forcing contestants to huddle around the campfire, drying towels and bedsheets amid rising humidity.
“The camp was drenched, and the storm caused filming issues, but everything is fine now. Our health and safety weather contingencies kicked in, and we evacuated the celebrities immediately to the Bush Telegraph until the storm passed and it was safe to return to camp,” the source stated.
Affected celebrities
The I’m A Celebrity 2025 lineup includes rapper Aitch, comedian Ruby Wax, reality TV star Jack Osbourne, podcaster Vogue Williams, and others like Kelly, who all endured the sudden upheaval.
These stars, already battling trials and camp duties, faced an unplanned team-building moment in the Bush Telegraph as lightning cracked overhead.
According to The Sun, McFly’s Danny Jones, 39, speaking on the evacuation, revealed that it was one of the hardest nights.
“We were all quite cramped, and I think there were still 12 of us then as well, all boiling-hot in close proximity. The rain also meant the leeches were searching for you, and I was literally on leech check every day.”
I’m A Celebrity 2025 production challenges and aftermath
The filming of I’m A Celebrity 2025 was paused as crews assessed damage from wind and hail, leaving the camp in disarray.
Bosses braced for more flooding and thunderstorms, complicating the already humid conditions that make jungle life miserable.
However, production resumed once safe, with campers adapting by pushing through trial and fire-drying gear.
The evacuation brought real drama into I’m A Celebrity 2025, blending survival elements with authentic peril.
