Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane – What Changed Since Her Last Reality Show

Kimora Lee Simmons returns to reality TV after nearly 15 years with Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, which premiered  December 2, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on E!.

This reboot of her original series, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane (2007-2010), showcases her evolved life as a single mother managing a fashion empire and raising five children.

Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane overview

The original Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane series followed Simmons’ high-glamour world as a former supermodel and CEO of Baby Phat, blending family life with her urban couture line.

Episodes captured post-pregnancy challenges, ad campaigns, and daily fabulosity amid her then-younger family. It aired on the Style Network, establishing her as an O.G. of reality TV.

Kimora’s family expansion

Simmons now raises a blended brood: daughters Ming Lee (25) and Aoki Lee (23), sons Kenzo (16) and Gary (16), and youngest Wolfe (10).

In an exclusive interview with E! News in early December 2025, she revealed that her kids joined the show after she persuaded them, highlighting tensions such as teens seeking independence.

“They were excited, I had to bribe them, hinting at a sports car and a wardrobe of fancy stuff to wear” may have been involved. I think sometimes they’re a little shell-shocked, especially the girls. Because they were younger then and now it’s a different time in their lives, a different vantage point,” she disclosed.

“They’re young adults, so I’m not there to protect them and do everything. It’s been a journey,” she added.

Kimora’s business empire growth

Baby Phat remains central, now part of a billion-dollar portfolio with new releases showcased on air. Simmons calls herself a “luxury hoarder” and a fashion icon, and has been featured in more businesses since her last show.

She relaunched Baby Phat alongside her five daughters and expanded into wellness and beauty products.

Additionally, she secured new partnerships in luxury markets.

Unlike the original’s focus on post-baby design launches, this version spotlights her as a multi-hyphenate mogul mentoring a family in fashion.

Viewers get a glimpse into the high-pressure environment of running brands in the social media era, where everyone’s move is instantly scrutinized, and trends change overnight.

Kimora’s personal evolution and motherhood

At 50, Simmons discusses dating, curiosity, and philanthropy like Smile Train ambassadorship, absent from early episodes.

No longer post-partum focused, she navigates empty-nest vibes with Kenzo and Gary maturing, plus Wolfe as her “last baby.”

What fans anticipate from Kimora’s return

Fans clamored for her return, turning down offers like Real Housewives for this authentic reboot.

“It’s on my DVR. Hasn’t Bravo talked to Kimora about being on either BH or NYC HW before? I guess she declined cuz she wanted her own show again… and prob some producing control,” a user said on Reddit on December 2, 2025.

“Kimora is Across the Street! Tonight is the 2-episode premiere of Kimora Back in the Fab Lane on E!, which is a sister network of Bravo, and then streaming on Peacock. So I thought I’d make a post since I think a lot of people here will be watching. It starts tonight at 10 pm, 9 central,” another added.
