If you live in the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles or northeastern New Mexico, you know that KAMR Local 4 is your NBC station for what’s happening right now. Be it weather that turns on a dime, breaking stories, and community events, they have everything that affects your day.
Well, now you don’t need a cable box or satellite to follow it anymore.

What KAMR+ means
This is a new app that now allows you to watch KAMR Local 4 News and KCIT Fox 14 News live. You’re going to see these things on the app:
- Live newscasts (when they’re on): You can stream KAMR’s primary evening newscasts. That is Local 4 News at 5, Local 4 News at 6, Local 4 News at 10, and so on when they’re on the air, just like you would on channel 4 over-the-air. The older app did not have live TV, just on-demand news and clips.
- Breaking news and severe weather: When severe weather hits, you’ll often see long-form coverage “break in” with live radar, warnings, and field reports.
- On-demand local clips: If you’re catching up after work, the app libraries and KAMR’s YouTube channel will be your friend with short segments on weather, top stories, community spotlights, and explanations posted throughout the day.
Note: You won’t get a 24/7 stream of NBC network shows or sports via the KAMR+ app. Rights restrictions keep most network programming inside NBC’s national apps and services. The app is only built for local newscasts, breaking news, weather, and local features.
KAMR+ app compatibility and availability
The new application is available only in the United States. It is compatible with the following devices:
- Phones & tablets: Look for “KAMR LOCAL4 NEWS” by Nexstar Broadcasting.
- TV platforms: Search and install the free station app from your device store, open it, and you’ll see live newscasts and on-demand local news. If your store search doesn’t show “KAMR+” by name yet, try “KAMR,” “Local 4,” or check the News category.
Do you need a subscription for the KAMR+?
You don’t pay a subscription, and you don’t create an account. The “+” station apps from Nexstar, including KAMR, are ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) plus live ad breaks inside the newscasts.
You’ll see short commercials pre-roll on local clips and standard breaks during the live shows.
Other free paths for KAMR+ coverage
If you want a second and third way to get local information. Here are reliable, free alternatives you can also keep on your devices alongside the station app:
- YouTube: Subscribe to KAMR Local 4 News on the platform. Here you will get quick, shareable clips you can watch on any phone, tablet, or smart TV with a YouTube app.
- Haystack News: Add KAMR 4 News in the free Haystack News app. Haystack curates local clips into a “newscast-like” playlist and, in many markets, offers live feeds during breaking coverage.
