A cast member of Netflix’s Love Is Blind Season 9, the 28-year-old hairstylist Anna Yuan, has opened up about her 40-pound weight-loss transformation. This follows a wave of criticism and body-shaming on social media.
What began as a personal health journey quickly became a public social-media saga, and Anna addressed it all with strength.

Anna Yuan’s weight loss transformation
Anna quietly embarked on a health transformation journey three months after the filming of Love is Blind Season 9 ended.
On October 25, 2025, she took to Instagram to share her frustration with critics who commented on her weight, both positively and negatively, after she confirmed losing 40 pounds.
“Reminder that it’s weird as f*** to message a person you don’t know to comment about their weight or physical appearance. Please, for the love of God, touch grass!”
“Yes, I’ve lost 40 lbs since filming. “It is not that deep, and again, you are WEIRD,” she added.
Further, on October 2, 2025, Anna stated that she was proud of how healthy she had become since losing significant weight.
” Hi friends, reminder that I am human. A human who has devoted her life to a craft to make other women feel beautiful. I have struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. For the first time in my life, I am proud of how healthy I am. I’m not a character. I’m a real human being just like you. Be kind. Love you all anyway.”
Anna Yuan on vulnerability

Throughout her Love Is Blind Season 9, Anna was open about her struggle with vulnerability and the impact of participating in a televised experiment.
She admitted that sharing her personal life, especially her struggles around weight and dating, felt daunting and exposed in front of an audience.
“These are very sensitive topics for me. It’s not just about sharing with the person I’m dating or the other women; this is going to be aired for everyone to see,” she shared.
Anna Yuan’s exit from Love Is Blind Season 9
Despite stepping out of the pods early and away from the romance experiment, after she made a strong connection with Blake Anderson and Patrick Suzuki, Anna’s journey continues as a public narrative about the scrutiny reality stars face beyond the screen and her personal health.
Similarly, through her Instagram stories, she spoke about regretting leaving Patrick’s feelings and not saying goodbye. Although she was grateful for her time on Love Is Blind Season 9, she wanted the chapter to end.
