If you live in South Africa, Openview HD is available to you. It is a free-to-air satellite service run by eMedia Investments, and you can watch its channels without paying monthly fees. 

Below is a list of all Open View TV channels by genre. We have included their corresponding channel numbers for easy identification.

National broadcasters

Openview carries South Africa’s major free-to-air public and commercial broadcasters so you still get the core national channels without a subscription. These TV stations include:

  • 100 – Openview PROMO
  • 101 – SABC 1. 
  • 102 – SABC 2. 
  • 103 – SABC 3. 
  • 104 – e.tv (HD). 
  • 105 – eExtra (HD). 
  • 106 – eMovies (HD). 
  • 107 – eMovies Extra (HD). 
  • 108 – eReality / eReality (HD). 
  • 109 – eSERIES (sometimes listed as eSeries).

eMedia/e.tv family channels

eMedia (owner of e.tv/Openview) supplies many thematic channels, from movies, drama, kids, reality to Afrikaans content. You’ll see multiple e-branded channels plus the following:

  • 110 – StarLife (Bollywood entertainment; English dubbed).
  • 111 – ZEE ONE. 
  • 112 – ePlesier. 
  • 113 – The Home Channel + (lifestyle and home improvement). 
  • 114 – Star Khanya (dramas, novellas, and movies dubbed in isiZulu)
  • 115 – People’s Planet. 
  • 116 – EXPOSED (true-crime / entertainment block). 
  • 117 – Often used for festival or placeholder channels.

International news and world feeds

Openview carries a helpful selection of global news channels so you can access international headlines and affairs without subscription:

  • 121 – France 24 (English global news). 
  • 126–129 (various slots) – Openview occasionally maps international news and educational feeds within this range.

Sports and sport-adjacent channels

Openview has been expanding sports offerings so you can follow selected live sporting events for free. Here is the list of all Open View TV channels in the sports niche.

  • 124 – SABC Sport (public broadcaster sports feed). 
  • 125 – SportyTV (recently launched on Openview as a free sports feed).

Kids and family

The brand also bundles several kid channels, including local kids programming and international cartoon channels. They include:

  • 122 – DBE TV (education). 
  • 130 – eToonz (HD) (e.tv kids channel). 
  • 134 – Mindset (Education channel focused on the South African curriculum.)
  • 135 – SA Music (exclusively plays South African music)

The SABC operates many national and regional radio services covering news, music, language-specific programming, and public affairs. Openview carries the SABC radio suite, so viewers get the public radio lineup without a subscription. They are as follows:
